Anyone Have Their Tonsils/nose Surgery Recently?

Im going in next week to have my nose drilled out and polyps removed, and now also having my tonsils removed. Being 39 and all, the older you are i heard, the more pain in removing the tonsils. I'll be out for two weeks, just wanted to see if anyone else has had both or one or the other. Not looking forward to it, but it will be nice to breath better and not get sinus infections all the dang time.

I havn't had it, but it sounds painful. Well any drilling into body does.

Not me personally, but one of the women I play wallyball with had her tonsils out a couple months ago. She was out for a week but was then back to normal.

Don't know of anyone who has had their nasal polyps out. Though I know I'd breath better without mine (allergies).

We are saving up to have this procedure done to my girlfriend, she has had problems with her sinuses for years. Her mom had it done a couple years ago and said without a doubt the recovery was well worth it. Suck it up for a couple days, you should be better for it.

I am hoping the doctor is able to correct the malfunction in my girlfriends head at the same time... wishful thinking?

Hey Kevin. If anyone tells you the tonsil deal is easy,they are full of it.. Had mine out in my mid 20's. 32 now. I would of rather been dead for over a week. Encouraging words I know. Good Luck..

Both are going to suck, especially the tonsils. The older you get, the more it will hurt. Im just going to have to deal with it lol.

Good idea in that it will help fight infection.

Bad idea in that it will BURN LIKE HELL going down after the tonsils come out.

Came back home last night. The stay in the hospital overnight and how i feel is pretty much like total crud. My ass is totally numb from being in bed for 24 hours (feels like i was the door prize at the county jail)! Having the tonsils out is sucking big time. Just flushed out to big gobs of booger blood. Cant swallow saliva without wincing in extreme pain, so it pretty means minimal if any sleeping. But i have some heavy duty narcotics to offset the pain. Feeling totally lousy beyond all. Friday ill be taken in to get the padding out from my nose, so ill be able to breathe and a stint comes out in two weeks. Its pretty much time to recover and rest. But it will just take time for me to heal. After this, ill be able to really breathe thru my nose and no more sinus infections and sleep better at night!

I had my tonsils taken out when I was 23. It was a horrible week. But I haven't had anything other than a minor cold ins the last 5 years, and I used to get sick all the time.

Take it easy and it will be worth it in the end
