Yes, you can add an amp without cutting ANY of the factory wiring too. Try PAC audio, put in your truck info and look for the add an amp kit. You are going to need to replace your speakers with ones suitable for the amp that you buy. I did this on my 08 and it sounds sooooo much better.

This is a link to PAC and the add an amp harness that you could use. I am assuming you have a 07 classic from your pic. Good luck

If your wanting to do it for fairly cheap and easy just swap out your speakers. I changed out all my bose speakers with a set of bostons and what a difference, sounds so much better. If you want to spend a bit more add the amp in there too.

On a more serious note, just get a nice 4-channel amp (like an Alpine MRP-F300) and some speakers (Alpine SPS-600C in the front & SPS-600 in the rear). You don't want to amp your stock speakers, since you want to add an amp, you'll want to upgrade the speakers too. Also, the AOEM-GM24 would be what you're looking to use to integrate your amp to your stock HU.

I've added just subs to my truck, and it made the world of difference. Right now I run the stock radio with the bass turned down 3 clicks. This way I know I'm not pushing any low end to the door speakers to make them distort. Sounds great and the bass isn't over powering. Would have been nice to have a nice equalizer and HPF on the stock head unit, but oh well. Classic rock songs sound well rounded with the additional bass... and on the other side hip-hop songs can get really thumping. All easily adjustable with the equalizer. My amp is under the passenger seat, btw. Would like to upgrade all 4 speakers with an amp, but that requires more wiring, money, and removing of door panels (effort).

I dont like the real loud booming base. i am all about sound quality, but i still think a sub is a big part. I put a sound processor on the stock head unit and a 550x4 amp running to boston door speakers. i also installed a 13.5" jl audio thin sub under the back seat with an amp running to it. I could never listen to a factory system again. You may not want a sub this big, but i strongly recomment 1 10" sub. I built a custom box to fit under the back seat and also stashed the amps and sound processor back there. The bass isn't overpowering but is real crisp and clear. I dont listen to rap music anyway to get that kind of bass.

6.5"

6.5" yes, but with gigantic adapter plates. I added 6x9's to all four door with almost no trimming and they sound so much better. They fit perfectly under the door panels too.

I went Polk DBs (component) 6x9 front and rear w/ a 25watt amp. There was a little trimming necessary on my panels to get it to fit on all four doors. I just cut 3 (top, left, right) 1/2" slits in the metal and bent the door skin back just enough to get a nice tight fit. I have been very happy with the sound and they fit perfect behind the door panels/screen.

The component speakers allow you to aim the tweeter upwards. I am not a fan of mounting the tweeters in the dash or the windshield rails. But that's just me.

Not a hard job though.

Thanks. I had a chance to by bose speakers but passed it up. I heard there no good is that true?

Bose Blows.

They wont even give you actual Tech specs on the speaker range, distortion percentages, or RMS handling power. I bought a small set of speakers ($300 at the time), tore them down and they looked exactly like the paper cone speakers you would find in $5-$15 dollar desktop speakers. Paper cone is not the way to go, I prefer some other material such as silk, Kevlar weaved paper, IMPP (Pioneer), Polymer/Mica, etc.
