Newbie Shouting Out

Hey everyone! I just joined (obviously) and I just got back into the Chevrolet scene. My first truck was an 86 Silverado that me and my dad rebuilt practically from the ground up. After spending about 3 years driving it and hot rodding it up, I was in a way forced to sell it because I would be going to college and could not deal with the 7mpg I was getting. I bought a Dodge Ram which performed very well for me and was an amazing truck that definitely earned Dodge my respect, but my heart still aways lied with Chevrolet. Well my Ram was totaled in a very tragic wreck and it served me very well and kept me very safe with all things in consideration.

 

For the new truck I wanted to go back with Chevy, so I wound up getting a 2004 Silverado 2500. I'm absolutely in love with it! Feels great to be back in a Chevy.

 

Anyway, I love keeping my vehicles in top shape and love to work on them myself and do things to keep them unique in a way. I have only mild plans for this one right now considering I don't have a lot of money to dump into it right now, but over time it'll all come together.

 

As far as me, I'm from Texas! Grew up all my life just north of Houston in a town called Spring. I'm going to college at Texas A&M Univeristy and studying nuclear engineering.

Thats awesome! I'll be class of 2011. Except from that wreck I had It might wind up pushing me back a whole year because it happened the Friday before finals and I missed all of them. :o/ But as much as I guess I could complain, I'm just glad that God left me on this Earth after that wreck. So whenever I graduate is just fine with me! lol

A Ford Taurus hit me actually. It was a head on collision on a two lane highway. I was traveling at about 60mph and she was somewhere between 60 to 70. She swerved into my lane all in the matter of a second and hit me. There wasn't time for me to do anything but just get ready for the impact. Bless her soul, she was killed on impact. Her car going under my truck and into my tire pushed my tire up into the floor board pinning bot of my feet between the steel in the floor board and the dash. I managed to get my left foot free, but the right foot I could not get out until about 40 minutes later when the fire department cut me free. Amazingly, from a wreck like this my only injuries were that my right foot suffered a fractured heel and my left foot was broke in 6 different spots. The right foot has since healed for the most part and so has the left foot. I am still rehabbing it however, but it is coming along quite well. The wreck happened May 8th, my birthday of all days.
