Rear Defog Question

I'm sort of puzzled because I have the rear slider window which to my understanding is not available with a rear defog option. However on my HVAC controls I have a rear defog button, which lights up if I push it? I've always wondered about this? Has anyone else noticed this in their truck?

To my knowledge I don't I have heated mirrors though.

If you have the defog switch on your dash, you probably have heated side mirrors. I tried looking up the RPO code for it, but there are just so many and I couldn't match any up to mine so

I also have the rear slider, but purchased the HD Towing mirrors with the heated option. Is there a way to wire up a switch to be able to utilize the heated mirror option?

Look closely at the button and you'll see the picture on it is of a side view mirror...

As far as I know if you have an LT/SLE 1 the standard mirror is the DL8 PWR Adj. Man Fld, Heated. I dont think they make a PWR non heated mirror for the 900 series. It should say on your window sticker. If you have the RPO code DL8 in your glove box you have the heated mirrors and that is what the button on your HVAC controls operates when lit.

Look closely at the button and you'll see the picture on it is of a side view mirror...

I took a closer look at the button and i thought it was just the standard square with the wavy lines through it but there is also a line beside it that look like it could be the arm for a side view mirror? One of the codes in my glove box does say DL8 too. I guess I do have heated mirrors. I'll be damned LOL I didn't know what it did since I tried it and it didn't do anything for my rear window and I couldn't see anything back there that would serve as a way to clear my windows. Too bad I didn't try it when there was ice on my mirrors.

My 07 Silvie LTZ does not have the DL8 code.....But it does have a DK8 code...So how would I know if my mirrors are heated?...I just bought it this past June,so I really haven't noticed if they are or not heated..

My 07 Silvie LTZ does not have the DL8 code.....But it does have a DK8 code...So how would I know if my mirrors are heated?...I just bought it this past June,so I really haven't noticed if they are or not heated..

A quick way to do it is look for the code DL8 or push the button on the climate control for the defrost which will look like a mirror with waves running through it and with the truck running feel the mirror after about 5 to 10 mins of running and see if it's warm at all.

Ok, I was not 100% sure. I have the opposite of you. Heated mirrors and no rear defog!

It could also be code DL3, do your mirrors have the signals in them. I have those on mine and the mirror code is DL3.
