1984 Two Tone Body Side Stripe

I have a 1984 Silverado that is red/ tan two tone with the red on the top and the bottom with the tan only in a two foot wide section down the side of the body. Below the tan is the silver rubberized trim, but the upper part of the tan has a 1" wide stripe that I cant find. It was orange-ish with two skinny black stripes. This tape runs from the front of the fender all the way down the side of the truck, around the tailgate, and up the other side of the truck. Does anyone have any idea where I could find this stripe?

I tried my local parts store, I've looked online, I've tried restoration houses (LMC, Brothers, and Classic Industries), and then I asked my local dealer and was told by them, "Sorry, I can't help you with that." I'm wanting to repaint, but only if I can locate the factory stripe.

Are you sure its a factory stripe and not dealer installed? It looks like it could just be a combination of two pin stripe tapes.

The stripe he is talking about was standard on the two or three tone paint jobs from GM on the full size trucks.

I beleive it to be factory and not dealer installed as I have seen the exact same on several other trucks.

Well, if you cant get it anymore and you need it painted...you may have to get it pinstriped.

 

Take lots of photos of it and a good pinstripe guy can do this in his sleep
