And the award for most useless thread ever goes to...!

To answer the question, I really don't care. There are much more important things to worry about in a truck IMO.

I would never!!!GM ,please never do that!!!

lol stfu. I'm really tall and would love a floor shifter. I curse that damn thing every time I bump it with my knees. Makes it hard to run the truck in 3rd because it barely clears in D.

I hate most of the new cars just because they do have a floor shifter.

Both my truck and my automobile have a column shifter.

I don't want to drive for short trips or long trips with my right let rested/rubbing against some stupid 'console'.

Very few automobiles left that one can get a column shift.

I think it is a generational thing. Column shift is for the older generation and the younger generation thinks that the floor shifter is 'cool'.

For those of us with long legs, the console just makes any size vehicle claustrophobic.

I sat in an H2 Hummer. There's no room up front with that huge console. My 1988 Mitsubishi Plymouth Colt sedan had more seat room than the H2 Hummer.

As it is with my 2008 GMC Sierra WT - with power windows, my left leg hits that stupid door handle. Dumb design on GM's part there.

What may be useless for you is not for me !

If you don't wanna answer ,just don't do it ! but don't try to ridiculize me!

With the width of the US cars and trucks it is not a real problem except if you are very great and big, in Europe all the cars and Asian truck have floor shift (European Ford pick-up too), It is an affair usually I had numerous cars with floor shift but I like the column shift too

Noooooooo. I had a floor shifter (standard), and that was one thing that I did not like. I much prefer the shifter on the steering column. It was a PITA as it always seemed to be in the way of something.

Had a floor shift on my titan and loved it. Like svensk, in 3rd it's pretty close to the legs. I think having the option of both would be best. It seems that the company's that offer both seem to sell more with the floor shifter. Atleast that's the way it seems around here.

They would have to offer both or only column I'd think, since the regular cabs need the third seat.... I only like floor if its manual.

My '06 has the 2LT package so has the big console. I've been thinking about putting a Hurst auto shifter in the console and taking off the column lever. For me it would be more convenient (although it would make using the cup holders more difficult) and it would have ratchet shifting capability for manual shift control.
