I have used it on small engines and was impressed with the results. I have not used it in any auto/pickups. I will be interested to see what the results of the poll are.

I've used it in the past with good results. I've had excellent results with GM Top End Cleaner and BG induction services also. I've boroscoped vehicles that I've used the BG stuff on and seen the results, and I tore down a 305 that I used the GM stuff on, and the intake runners, combustion chambers, and valves were nearly spotless.

I used it as a last resort to free a sticking lifter on an older Land Rover, and it fixed it right up. I used the deep creep stuff, the seafoam that comes in an aerosol.

I used it on my '96 S10 at about 98,000 miles and really seemed to help. I also used in my Z71, didn't seem to do quite as much, but it didn't hurt anything either.

At less than $6 a can, it's worth a try in my opinion.

Seafoam is an additive that has many uses for both 2 and 4 stroke engines. It can be added to the fuel tank to help clean the injectors and induction system. Buy yourself a can at NAPA or Advanced Auto and give it a try. There are many posts concerning its' use.

I just saw that my local Autozone has just added Seafoam to its shelves. I think $4.99 a can.

Does it do the same thing if you add it through your PCV valve?

Yes you can induce it through your PCV valve hose. I usually use the power brake booster hose and shut the engine off when it starts to bogg down. After it sits for about 15 minutes, I start it up and rev it up to about 3,000 - 3,500 rpm's. You should see plenty of white smoke coming out of the exhaust. I can usually bo this about three times with one can of Seafoam. Good luck.

We need another poll for this one.

Those who've added it to the fuel tank and

Those who've added it to the crankcase.

Lets hear it! :D

How do you use the BG induction service? Do you pour it in with the fuel or do you need special equipment?

After I bought my "PreOwned" '00 Silverado I brought it back in because of the engine knock. The dealership said it's Cold Start Knock and gave me a memo about it and in the memo it stated something about carbon build up in the cylinder. The service person I talked with said they could do a de-carbon something for $$$. I decided no because of the $$$. Then I found this forum and learned about CSK a.k.a. Piston Slap. I went to Napa and asked about decarborizing and was directed to Seafoam.

I did the suggested method for Seafoam except for the crankcase. It does smoke LOTS when burning out and it left a black spot in the driveway under the tailpipe when I was all done burning it out. So I guess it did what it was supposed to do although it didn't do much for the CSK.

BG has additives that you can put in the tank, but the complete service is a three step process with a pressurized cylinder and a fogger nozzle inserted into the throttle body. I was going to buy the system, but then a friend of mine did, so if I want to use it I just borrow his. The stuff works really good, but it's expensive. The complete induction service involves 3 cans...2 through the intake and 1 in the tank that is supposed to be a final clean to get the last bits that the first to cans worked on and left behind. Plus, you need the pressurized system and an air compressor.

Most of the time now I just use Seafoam or GM Top End Cleaner...does basically the same thing for a much cheaper price (Seafoam being the cheapest and most readily available w/o having to go to the dealer)....but when a friend says "Hey I have some extra BG Stuff...need an induction service?"...I'm sure to write it down so I can remind him when he sobers up the next day. :D
