The 2500's and 3500's have been built at the Flint, Michigan plant for a while now. The 1500 regular cabs and double cabs have also been built at Flint, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Pontiac, Michigan(closed now). The 1500 crew cabs in the past have been sourced from Silao, Mexico or Oshawa, Canada. The Oshawa plant has been closed and the Silao plant has been making just Avalanches and Escalade EXT since the Suburban 2500 line there along with some 1500's made there has since been switched to the Arlington, Texas assembly plant. So now all the Silverado/Sierra models along with the Suburban/Yukon XL units will now all be assemlbed in the U.S.A! GM also recently announced that the new 2010 Buick LaCrosse will be assembled at the Fairfax, Kansas plant, giving those folks a new product and giving them more of a chance of staying open.

Interesting so the crewcab 1500's will be made in Texas must be part of the delay for the 2010 model???

Does this mean that once I get my order for a 2010 in I can drive down to the plant and help them make it since I live 20 mins. from the Arlington plant? That woudl be sweet!

They are not making them in Texas, right now I was told by GM they are being produced in Silao Mexico

No, no I mean't the SUBURBANs not SILVERADOs, are now made in Arlington, Texas. No Silverados are made in Texas just the Suburban/Escalade and ESV, and Yukon/Yukon XL. Silverado 1500 CREW CABS are coming from Silao, Mexico until early 2010 when the Flint Plant is retooled. The 1500 regular cabs and extended cabs are coming from Fort Wayne, Indiana and the 2500, 3500, is coming from Flint, Michigan.
