Silverado Owner In The Uk

Hi

Just joined up to the forum and saying hi from England. HI!

I have owned many trucks and my latest is far the best ever. Its a from new 2007 Silverado crew 4x4 LTZ. FANTASTIC!

It gets used every day for work and carry's a full load of tools. Far better than any of my F150's i have owned.

She gets a good few looks over here as people are more use to the euro/jap trucks. I will get the same questions over and over," what's that do to the gallon mate, how much do the tyres cost, where do you get parts?" etc..

I took it off road a week ago just to see how the 4x4 copes in the mud. Considering it has 20" road tyres it did well although its did belly out over the mounds. Also the tyre broke the seal between the bead and wheel and setting off the TPMS on the dash. Which was handy as i did not feel the tyre going down while on soft ground. I didn't think it would be so easy to get a tyre problem on a newly designed 4x4, its not as if i was really pushing it off roading.

I am thinking of fitting a cold air kit, do they really work that well?

Can a duel exhaust be fitted without having to removing the spare?

Welcome to the ZOO!

Many dual exhaust kit manufacturers make a setup for that truck... and yes, they work around the spare tire. You should be able to pick one up and have it delivered UPS. I'd imagine that truck gets lots of attention there for sure.

Ah, a double post..

Hi again and welcome !

I thought they only drove white minivans in the UK.

I have a cold air kit installed and a dual exhaust. If you combine that with some tweaking (like a Blackbear tune or a DiabloSport Predator) you will definitely notice a difference.

The air kit is a K&N Aircharger. I like it, but I did all these mods at once , so it is hard to tell what the effect is.

The exhaust is a Corsa (not the Vauxhall) and I still have my spare wheel in place. If you install an original GM Dual exhaust, the spare has to go (correct me if I'm wrong) There are a lot of posibilities out there, you could even consider building and exhaust from scratch.

Have fun with your truck.
