The tie-downs for the slots are moveable. As well as covering the slot, they cover an additional 1/2 - 3/4" beyond the hole. Factory spray-in still comes with plastic plugs in the slots. If truck has tie-downs included (some trims come with 4 of them) or if you purchase additional ones, they will still be do-it yourself install. They 'included' kit is 4 tie-downs, so extras are needed if you want them in every location (without needing to move). I agree with RWTJR that spraying over is a bad idea.

Sierra does not currently have any equivalent packages that include 3.73 with any engine. The package (B4U - Diesel Off-Road Package) that gets 3.73 with the LM2 is only available in Silverado, and only on LT and RST. (B4U - Diesel Off-Road Package)

3.73 is also available on Custom Max Trailering' with the 5.3L. As name suggests, only available on 'Silverado Custom trim'. I think that might be 'code' for 'the truck is out getting the spray-in liner added'.

It's possible, but you'll need to get a 25/3500 you can get a crew with an 8' bed. GM currently does not build a reg cab with a 6.5ft box (at least not for US/Can) Crew-short was designed to fit in the same space as the ext cab 6.5ft box. When the crew-short was introduced, it was exactly the same wheelbase as the ext-cab std bed. Many garages can fit a crew-short, but not a crew-std.

Low def level should get a message that def needs to be added. Service def warning is an indication that something is wrong with the system. Heater, pump, injector, def lines, etc -- and it knows it has fluid, but the NOx levels are not being reduced as expected.

Maybe it's a porous casting.

It can happen to any engine, from any manufacturer. Fortunately it's not common. (clearly, manufacturers can't afford to be replacing/rebuilding engines on every vehicle...) Sucks when it's your new ride to not be running it. Warranty doesn't say anything about a buy-back. They'll repair or replace the engine, depending on how much damage and if also depending on if GM wants it back for tear-down. Despite the annoying start, it'll probably turn out to be one of your favorite trucks. Those that study failures would call it a classic 'infant mortality' failure.

Are you interested in comparing your 1500 gasser with a 3.0L or with an HD and the 6.6L? (or the canyon/colorado 2.8L) If so, which engine are you running? Daily driver duties or towing duties? Lots of steady speed driving or lots of stop and go around town? I keep reading posts about 'extra' cost for maintenance of a diesel, but would argue that any differences will not make a significant impact on the cost per mile of ownership.

I don't know that the configurator always keeps up, but the fleet order guide usually has notes about that type if change.

Not sure which model year it was, but a while back there were some HD's that had a problem with the way the calipers were machined. Prevented calipers from sliding on pins properly, resulting in rapid pad wear.

I wonder if that means the option has changed between then and now or if GM has the order guide wrong? Option code DQS (at least now) includes puddle lamps in the description.

Order code description says the tailgate composite panel is not sprayed.

For 2021 model: Base sierra is the only trim that doesn't have MultiPro either standard or available. (optional on SLE/Elevation, std on SLT/AT4/Denali) Spray-in is available or standard on all trims.

With more gears to pick from it will be able to find one that can produce the necessary torque level at a lower engine rpm. Sounds like the enclosed trailer has much higher frontal area. If it does have more frontal area it won't pull as easy as the other trailer.

I copied the description directly from the 2020 GM order guide for 1500 sierra. You're saying GM's order guide is wrong? When was your built? The DQS description does say 'NEW" in the description. I don't know if that means new for '20MY or if there was a change part way thru the model year. DQS is only available on the higher trims. DPO mirrors on the other trims do not have puddle lamps. I have a '21 1500 that is built but not delivered. It's supposed to have DQS. Time will tell.

1500 DQS mirrors have puddle lamps, but manual extend. Not sure if this is a recent change or if it came when they made trailer mirrors available on 1500 T1 2020 Order Guide: DQS NEW! You don't 'need' a 4wd truck for primarily around town and highway trips. 'Here' diesel is about the same price as regular. Sometimes a little less, sometimes a little more. (lately about 5-10% less). 91 is always significantly more the either regular or diesel. (like 25% higher than regular) I have no idea what the relative prices will be at your new location.... If you're going to primarily driving the company car, what does the one that will be doing the primarily around own stuff want to drive. I hate suggesting the practical route, but perhaps a midsize suv would be that persons preference. Maybe Acadia AT4? All the manufacturers seem to have several versions of that class of vehicle. It/when you decide to trailer, then add or trade to a tow vehicle . Easy for me to say. We've always been a two vehicle family, and after the 'just out of school' sports car I've always driven a truck (well there was that period when I had a much longer than usual commute and added a commuter car to the fleet)
