  7. My next truck will most likely be a Ford....just more ability to create something that I want through options. The GMC has the jingle, but other than that, it has been a fine rig. After running a Mopar fleet for a decade, I wouldn't give FCA a dime of my money.
  8. The dealer would tell you it wasn't built that way and there's nothing they can do to help.
  9. Towing at 80? Cool. No, the 10 speed will not go in to 10/lockup either.
  10. I leased mine a well, since I generally use it as a tow vehicle. I've had it 18 months and just turned 6k miles. Guess I have a few miles to make up......this one will most-likely be going back, as the jingle jingle front axle will never be fixed correctly.
  11. Went through this with Dodge fleet. They want to see oil changes every 300 hours, regardless of mileage. We did get the longblock in the end, but they didn't want to make it easy. I can see GM/Ford doing this as well.
  12. Maybe there's an issue with the T-case or 4x4 system? Mine has more than a few electrical components and sensors to it. (1999 Sierra)
  13. I tried the firestone airbags and they didn't fit correctly. Sent pics to Firestone and they had no comment, except they had never seen that issue before. Tried the Timbrens and they bottom out in the smallest rise in the road. Felt like ran over a pothole. Just raise the hitch height and be done with it.
  14. Last time I had a ratio swap done (2005) it was $1400 on a 4X4. Probably every bit of 2K now, if you can even do it and get all the computer-controlled systems to jive.
  15. It will do it with the engine running, key in pocket and you exit the vehicle. The fix is in settings.
  16. We had a Tahoe at work that had low oil pressure. It would have random AFM issues as well and the recommendation was a new engine. I would stay away from this one.

  18. Sure they're all 3.23? The non-z71's could have max tow at 3.42.
  19. Get a 3/36000 warranty so they can tell you there's no fix available or operating as designed....when it croaks.

  21. I have a 1-2 flare on a 99'. If I ever drop the pan, I'll change out the shift solenoids.
  22. I would just confirm that they were saying the "normal characteristic" was for the 10 and not the 8. Having driven many 8's and 10's, I would say 90% of the 8 speed trucks would clunk and can see GM saying it was a "normal characteristic."
  23. The 2-1 clunk was always present in the 8-speed. I've had no issue, and have never seen the described issue, in the 10-speed.
  24. You probably won't get any descent help from GM. Trade 'er in.
