  1. They're another way you could also add more noise. Replace the rubber bushings in your motor mounts with polyurethane bushings. Fairly cheap mod. All you need it access to a press. For some reason lapoolboy's post reminded me of this mod.
  2. This is one of the rare situations where I'll side with Grumpy Bear. He's right on this one.
  3. For the navigation upgrade I had to send them the module from my truck, they programmed it, and then they sent it back to me. They did provide a loaner while they had my module. The loaner and the shipping has a cost of $465, but they refund $400 if you return the module without damage. I have already contacted MVi. They said they need to look up my previous order and will get back to me. There other people in front of me. No word on cost yet. Just gotta be patient. I should start a new thread about this issue instead of hijacking this one.
  4. Sort of. During install your instructed to go into the DIC settings and turn that off. You could leave it running, theoretically. I don't know if it'll affect anything.
  5. Anacortes Army Guy is correct. Every 20,000 miles. Just confirmed with my dealer last week when I took my truck in for the 22,500 service. I see no harm in doing it at 22,500 miles. It just makes the schedule a little easier to follow. Dealer wanted $123 for the filter. I found it on RockAuto.com for $49.75 plus shipping and tax. Brought the total price to about $60. I got my truck back from the dealer last night, and changed the air filter this afternoon. I am keeping the old one hoping I can recharge it instead of replacing it. I read somewhere K&N was involved in making the GMP CAI, and the filter looks like a K&N filter. Does anybody know if a K&N recharge kit will work on these filters?
  6. Imo, this is a great point to liken the truck bed to a girl -- just pick a hole and go for it
  7. Make sure you have a cup holder to put it in. Apparently some lids on coffee cups are garbage.
  8. Every GM Accessory I've bought for my 2020 that involves electrical seems to ground at the battery. Every aftermarket mod I've installed grounded elsewhere. Seems to be 6 one way, half dozen the other.
  9. newdude knows his stuff. I recommend listening to him.
  10. I have young kids, so that stuff works for them. It doesn't work for me. I love camping. Nothing is more relaxing than sitting in a camping chair and falling asleep in the crisp mountain air while the fire crackles. Problem is I don't think 2 of my kids are ready for camping. We do firepits in the backyard, but that's about it.
  11. I've had it happen 3 times in the last 15 years. All 3 were GMs with original battery that went to crap when it got cold. 2006 Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged 2008 Saturn Outlook 2017 Chevy Traverse That's 50% of the vehicles I've owned during that timeframe. All 6 vehicles were GMs. My Silverado isn't included in this count. I have zero faith in AC Delco batteries. As soon as a battery craps out I replace it. It's the one thing I'm not doing warranty repairs on. You can get the same group battery with better ratings for CCA, CA, and reserve than the AC Delco batteries do, and they're also cheaper because they don't have the dealership markup. I like Exide NASCAR Extreme, but that seems to be impossible to locate in my area, so I went with the platinum line of whatever AutoZone is selling for the Traverse. On several reviews I found online it was rated pretty good and appeared on more lists than other brands I found in my area.
  12. Come on now. Earl Scheib didn't tape or prep. They painted over everything, including badges and nameplates. GM at least waits for the paint to dry before putting badges and nameplates on.
  13. I know nothing about San Diego. Been here over a year. Leaving in about 18 months. Navy.
  14. Glad I could help. Unfortunately, I discovered tonight that the reprogramming done by the tech per GM's instructions has now caused me another problem. I had the factory navigation that is in the LTZ and High Country trucks added to my truck via MVi. I've now lost that navigation system. I've already sent an email to my service writer. I'm about to contact MVi regarding this issue to see what my options are. I really hope I don't have to pay this upgrade again.
  15. Update: SOLUTION FOUND! Dealership had a 2nd tech look at the problem after swapping tailgates. GM was ready to pay for a whole new tailgate, painted and installed, but that was avoided by the 2nd tech. The swapped tailgate proved it's not a software issue. It's mechanical, specifically the bezel. Dealership had a replacement bezel available and installed it on my truck. Camera is now straight.
  16. Nope. Outer Banks, North Carolina. A few franchises had opened up in Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Virginia before I moved to California. The company started in Duck, North Carolina, hence the name.
  17. I hear you. If you've seen the thread about the reverse camera being of angle then you've seen the updates I've been providing to that. Hint: As of about an hour ago we have a solution for it.
  18. Tahoe and Suburban are newer, so expect GM to be making more money on them. They are more expensive than the trucks.
  19. I understand other forms of pushing were going on in the backseat. I was told that was so there'd be some home grown car pushers when the car broke down. Lightest one got to steer.
  20. Old people should be rejoicing. Things have improved. Cars are more reliable, more fuel efficient, and safer in a crash. We even have seat belts now. It use to be the backseat was a measure of how many people it would take to push the car when it broke down. Now it's measured by comfort and conveniences, like cup holders.
  21. The point is, I had trouble understanding what he/she's trying to convey to us. Man, woman, purple alien that speaks English, it doesn't matter. I would've said the same thing regardless. I only hope what I said regarding her vehicle is in line with what she was posting about.
  22. When I had a trifold it wasn't a matter of using the whole bed. It was a matter of need to use more than the full bed due to height. We've all been there. Regardless of what type of tonneau somebody gets there's always going to be a sacrifice to make.
  23. When was the last time something good came out of New York? I can't think of something presently, lol. Also, I noticed a post that said Tim Horton's is known for coffee and donuts. No wonder I don't know about them. America has Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts. However, I don't drink coffee and prefer Duck Donuts.
  24. Thanks for correcting me on that
  25. A squeaky belt has nothing do with AFM and DFM. Shifting into L9 won't change it. People who refer to that solution are not talking about the noise from the belt. However, I don't think it's a DFM issue because it's only happening on startup, not while the engine is just idling. You indicated you have success with putting the truck in L9 and the noise went away, so it may not be a belt issue for your vehicle. I haven't had the issue where I needed to shift into L9, so that might explain why I didn't notice the noise in your video. I can't help with the clunk noise. Could be a number of things, none of which I've experienced in my truck, and my truck is parked on an 8% grade, nose down, nightly. Not only did my belt use to squeak on a cold startup, but also when the engine turned back on while driving after turning off at a red light. Initial repair by dealer was to apply some sort of dry lubricant. It reduced the squeak, but didn't eliminate it. After awhile one edge of the belt wore enough that the squeaking went away. Wearing is indicated on the edge, but isn't severe enough for me to be concerned about breaking. Obviously a pulley is slightly out of alignment with the others, but the belt could be a smidge too wide, too.
