Anyone Else Live With Them?

I'm talking about rattles. I dread the cold because my dash cluster rattles when the truck is cold. As soon as it warms up inside it goes away. I think it has something to do with the gauge cluster and the way its in there because when I push on it, it goes away. And it only does it at 1100rpm when the motor has the GM shake. It drives me nuts when I first get in. Do you guys have any like that? Thanks

I guess my 3 GM trucks were/are oddballs then. :jester:

mine rattles alot too, an 07 900 series. pisses me off too, sounds like the speakers are rattling but it is the door locks on the inside best i can tell.

Mine is reasonably quiet, but hey, it's a truck, not a cushy luxury sedan. It works hard, and sometimes it squeaks and groans in the process.

Turn up the radio.

Haha true....mine is really loud when its cold out. People ask what the noise is. Other then that the truck is pretty queit. I sometimes also get the door locks that rattle but it doesn't bother me much.

Hell no I don't live with them. I can't stand rattles and squeeks. :dunno: So much so, that my wife makes fun of me for it. She says I have the ears of a dog when it comes to rattles and squeeks. I'll say "Do hear that?" and she'll just laugh and say "Nope". I'll spend hours tracking them down and fixing them. :jester: My truck has been pretty damn good though. Out side of the blower motor making a little ticking noise on low, the only other thing that makes any noise is the trim panel under the back window. It rattles from my subwoofer. Nothing a little foam tape and Dynamat can't fix.

Wish I could fix mine. Theres got to be an easy fix somewhere. I seem to be the only one with the problem.

With time, you won't hear them anymore. ... old age deafness will see to that.

I absolutely DESPISE any rattle, jitter, clunk, or other noise that ISN'T supposed to be there coming from my panelling. It drives me up the wall. In fact one evening I was so furious with a persistent dash noise that I pulled over on the highway and in the middle of nowhere, spent an hour ripping apart the dash to hunt it down.

One rattle I seem to have identified comes from the driver's side air vent. Sometimes when the vent wheel is set to fully open it will rattle, so I shut it a smidge and the noise goes away.
