michigan2500hd Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Haven't looked up a part number yet but wanted to see if anyone has had a problem with their front hinges? Both doors squeek but the passsengers side is very loud. The source of the noise is the hinge roller not spinning when i close the door. Now mind you i maintain this truck fairly well so why would the hinge roller freeze up? I have tried almost every type of rust spray with no luck.
michigan2500hd Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 Cant seem to find a part number on the hinges. Looked on several sites and i get the feeling its a dealer only part. Anyone know how i can get a part number???
txab Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Call the parts dept. at the dealer. Have you completely removed it to try cleaning/soaking it?
brims Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Hit it with some sort of penetrating oil, that should loosen the roller up. Oops, read everything but the last sentence, disregard what I said.

If nothing is working to quiet the squeek, then I'd at least talk to the dealer before I bought new hinges on a fairly new truck.

Its an 07 with 54,000 miles on it. Hmmm...maybe i should call them and ask.

michigan2500hd Posted September 11, 2009 Author Posted September 11, 2009 Just got a price from the dealer of $ 58.10 for a hinge. Could have been worse i guess. The part number if anyone else needs it is # 25958197 This is for a GMT900 pass. side upper front dooor hinge
rck329 Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I have the exact same problem on my driver side. The roller is seized and I cannot it free... Truck is out of warranty and the dealer wants $180 to install new hinge (60 for the hinge, 30 for paint, 90 for labor). I need to look into how hard it is to change myself... Part number for the driver side is: 25958196
