Fab Fours Gmt 900 Rear Bumper

I recently installed Fab Fours new rear bumper for the GMT 900. These are awesome bumpers and I will definetly purchase their front one in the future. I feel sorry for the next guy that rear ends me (the last one was a NC state trooper). I got a grand tour of the Fab Four facility when I picked this up in Charlotte NC. Greg is an awesome guy to deal with on the phone and the owner Matt McShane took the time out to give me a detailed instal walk through and showed me how the bumper was made. Grade A top notch guys that I will highly recomend to everyone! Here are some pics from my camera phone. I will take some better ones when the weather breaks and stops raining.

It's hard to tell how they look with the small pics but... cool! :rollin:

Now, I have to ask, why?

What is it that you do that requires such a behemoth of a bumper? The rest of the truck looks pretty stock. Is this the first step of a bigger project or did you just like the bumper?

Daddy,

If you think the rear is big you should see the front one.

I was rear ended by a NC state tropper that wasnt watching the road in front of him while I was stopped at a red light a month ago. After getting a 960.00 quote for a new GM bumper, that by the way is a tin piece of junk, I found this one for 951.00, It fully integrates the rear hitch assembly, wraps around the frame rails, and has the rear recovery point for shackles. It also hides the hitch really nicely! 3/8" solid steel :rollin:

My son races quads and the entire family goes to the Dunes as much as we can. I choose this bumper for the added safety along with the increased benifits of the recovery points every time I wish I had them in the past; off road and in the dunes. I hate hooking up in the front and risking the recovery gear coming through the windshield. Here is a better pic of the bumper from Fab Fours site.

My truck is far from stock, look at my sig. I have focused on the performance mods to benifit towing around my 23 Ft Toy Hauler full of quads and gear. A Black Bear tune is on my list when I return from Afgan this spring. He is about 4 hours north of me. My truck spend about 80% of its life in the dirt! I run a fire break road 20 miles to the Marine Base everyday and the weekends are spent riding deep in the forests.

I have never been a big fan of lift kits because to date I have been everywhere my buddy in his 98 Sierra with a Rancho 4" kit and 35" MT's has been. My dad taught me a long time ago to 4 wheel the right way and focus on the technical side of it and that my friend will get you more places than any lift kit and wheels. Here are two pics of the only road into my house in the Croatan Forest.

A set of 285/70/17 BF Goodrich KM2's will be installed along with a full set of Bilstiens while I am away this winter. That will be more than enough to do what we do off road with my family.

I just recently learned about this site and have been real busy with pre deployment stuff. I am on leave now and decieded it was time to start posting. I appreciate all the info here and please dont take my post offensly, just stating my views.
