ss502gmc Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the 4l60e trannys are the same or different between a 94 k1500 and a 02 suburban. my buddies burbans tranny just lost 1st and reverse and he asked me to find out whether or not the tranny will fit from my 94 gmc where that tranny only has 30,000 on it since it was rebuilt. They are both 4x4. Any help would be great. Thanks
thearborbarber Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 In the short, no. Can it be made to work, yes. You will need a different bellhousing, flex plate, input shaft, front pump and some other parts I cant think of off the top of my head.
txab Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Your buddy would be best off to get his fixed or find another one designed to bolt right up. I'm also wondering about the electronics being the same on the two trans.
Draenor Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 In the short, no. You will need a different bellhousing, flex plate, input shaft, front pump and some other parts I cant think of off the top of my head. ..Valve body ,solenoids, tailhousing has a completely different bolt pattern, etc. Long story short, Its not going to work. Find a transmission made after '98 and you should be in luck.
