get a 3" inlet and 3" outlet muffler and any quality shop can weld it up with no problems. loud and aggressive I'd go with Flowmaster. smooth and mellow I'd go with magnaflow

was planning on getting a magnaflow single in/dual out. was hoping to do it myself and just cut out the old and clamp in the new with turn downs.....but i cant find one that is 2.75 in.

would this work for you? might be worth a try

Thinking about doing this with an 18" magnaflow I just purchased. Anyone tried this vs. having to go to a shop and have them do it?

A good shop is around 60 bucks from what I have seen. Anyone think these would be worth it?

The stock pipe size on your truck should be 2.75" like others said. If you get a muffler with 3" inlet/outlet, your stock exhaust pipes on your truck where you cut the other muffler out will slide right inside the 3" inlet/outlet on the new muffler. The Inside Diameter of 3" exhaust pipe is pretty close to the outside diameter of your stock exhaust, 2.75". The pipes on your truck will slide right into the inlet/outlet and will fit like a glove, then welding it up is a snap and your all done. I just got done doing this on my 2003 and I ordered a flowmaster with 3" inlet/outlet and it installed smooth as butter.
