Hypertech Causing Pinging?

I was curious if anyone has had any issues with the hypertech max energy causing pinging? I have tried every type of fuel on the premium fuel tune and regular fuel tune and found no difference. The other day i set it back to factory tune and it is much better but still a little pinging with prem fuel or reg fuel and it is worst on the highway at 65 mph. Anyone know if its the tuner or maybe change the the spark plugs? I have no idea but id like to resolve this before something bad happens especially im goin on a 1000 mile roadtrip next week. any input would be great!

Maybe a carbon build up. It shouldn t be pinging with a stock tune at all. See what type of carbon build cleaner up you can use.

I'm leaning toward a problem with a sensor. The knock sensors under the intake manifold are notorious for going bad. Also, many other sensors all play a role in controlling various engine parameters. You might want to jump over on the tuning forum and ask. But I'd hook up a code reader first then start with cleaning the MAF, checking connections on sensors, etc.. The guys on the tuning forum seem to be a knowledgeable group.

I have had pinging issues before and after my blackbear tune also. It does get a little better with 91 grade fuel. In all of my research, people point to the knock sensors, but they all say that it will throw a code. Can they be bad enough to cause problems without throwing a code? What about O2 sensors? Could they also cause the problems we're both having? I have new plugs and wires, and have seafoamed.

How do you guys know your getting pre-ignition? Are you hearing it clearly? And your certain thats what it is?

I know it because Justin from Blackbear pointed it out. I have never heard pinging before, so I didn't know what to listen for. He pointed it out before we started the tune. He recommended that I seafoam, but it didn't seem to help. It seems there is something a little more than carbon buildup for my situation.
