This is the Chevy Silverado ZR2 concept from SEMA 2009. I like it a lot, and 550HP would make me real happy.

What do think?

There's been tons of articles saying they will, and tons saying it'll never happen. The general consensus seems to be that GM will produce a limited number of these, but without the carbon fiber. The deletion of the carbon fiber will bring the ZR2 down considerably in price. I think it would sell well to the people who want a lifted truck, but 1. Rarely plan to use it as such and 2. have no idea how to lift a truck. They'll see "550 HP and an already installed BDS lift kit!!!" and start considering trading in their vehicle for one. It'll be interesting to see where GM goes with this.

Not sure about the hood, but I am so glad to see the flares return on the fenders, a vast improvement.

 

I also agree about the GMC version....I love an open grill versus the divided Chevy design.

Nice looking truck but Chevy needs to come up with a non-copycat name. IIRC there was an S-10 ZR2 back in the early 90's. And the ZR-1 belongs only to Corvette and they should have exclusive use for any ZR-n models they want to use.
