Want To Get A Hood Shield/bug Deflector

Recommended Posts

I am considering getting a bug deflector/hood protector for my truck, but don't want something that sticks so far up sticks out like a sore thumb, well the least it can with how the front of the hood is designed. I searched and couldn't find any pictures on a GMT-900. Does anybody have any pictures of some on their truck? I'm specifically looking for either color matched or smoked and a low-profile design, but I would like to see any and all that you guys have.

Most everybody is using the GM accessory version. It fits and is available in some factory colors plus smoke.

Not Greystone Metallic though :)

You can get a clear one and have a body shop paint the inside of it to match, though.

Here is my low profile from cabelas. So far I like it. My Tahoe has a lund interceptor and my old 2000 did also and I like those as well.

If you are just looking to protect the paint on front, look into the clear plastic stick on film. Its the same film people put on headlights to keep off rock chips. I think its made by 3M and is extremely strong and can't even tell its on there unless up close. I have it on my 09 Sierra and have been really happy so far.

Where did you pick that stuff up?

Also, this is one that I found that I like since it's pretty low profile. I would just paint that one too.

I got mine put on at a local shop Auto Trim and Design. They said they put them on 3-4 trucks a week and haven't had any problems with them at all. It is a little higher prices though. Cost me $100 but I think its worth it as I don't like the looks of the bug deflectors at all. I looked at my receipt and the film is called invisiGARD.
