Seats Slide Back And Forth

My seats slide back and forth when starting and stoping...I was told it was my worm gears. I've looked online for information about them but haven't found anything. Was I told wrong? If so what could it be?

Starting is not a big problem its the fast emergency stops that will get your attention when it happens. I had a seat bracket problem with my 99 that was covered under warranty, so I cant give you a cost. Mine are manual seats, and it took about 1 hour for them to fix it after they got the parts. Sorry I cant help any more.

If you have power seats,I suppose that is a possibility.How far does the seat move?

 

 

Yes they are power seats...they move back and forth about 1/2-1inch

 

Not enough to be dangerous, but just enough to anger me...

I cant help you but i can empathize. I had a 99' Z71 with power seats that did the same thing. It drove me fukkin nuts! I never did anything to fix it and finally sold the truck.

I know there was a long thread about this some time ago and I think someone had a fix but I don't remember what it was. I just replace the tracks it's the only thing I know for sure will fix it.

haha when you floor it does it make it seem faster when you fly back?
