Go back and look at post #66.

The usb is on the left side of the unit with a usb cable plugged in.

Different than what is shown above in Gregorio's post.

What gives?

Damn good question. I'm wondering if maybe that $550 unit was a Delphi-made unit for the Lambda CUVs.... which wouldn't work in a GMT900 truck (note Gregorio's unit is a Denso... which is the correct GMT900 part).

Woo Hoo! I did something right! BTW, what is a Lambda CUV?

Looks like this is going to take some time to get installed. the guy who is supposed to help me is not available until late next week.

Lambda is the name of the platform GM's "large crossovers" are built on. Those being the Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, Buick Enclave, and the now discontinued Saturn Outlook.

It's really not as bad as it looks. It took me about an hour to install mine... and that included having to route a few cables through the dash and splice a couple of existing connections.

I just thought I'd warn everyone to be cautious when searching for these units.... there's a scammer out there trying to sell one of these on Craigslist for $800, using the exact same text and photos as that ebay seller. The whole way he comes off is shady. Here's the email conversation I had with him:

Hello,

Can you tell me if this unit is equipped with the USB port for controlling iPods and other MP3 players? Also, are you able to ship this to Lansing, MI (48906)? Please let me know what your price would be with shipping. Thanks!

Hello,

Still available. Brand new in box, with warranty and all the parts and accessories included with the USB port for controlling iPods

I'm willing to pay for all shipping and insurance fees because I moved to London.

Just let me know your full name, shipping address and personal email address then I'll arrange the shipment through UPS.

Thanks

Hello again,

How would you want to handle payment for this item?

Also I noticed your listing is worded similarly to an eBay ad for this same unit... are you selling these on eBay as well, or did you just buy this and now don't need it?

Thanks again!

Hello,

I just buy it and don't need it, also, I need money soon.

If you're ready for this purchase, just let me know your full name, shipping address and personal email address.

I'll arrange the shipment immediately and UPS will send you confirmation that the merchandise is located in their custody, payment instructions and all necessary information you need to complete the transaction.

Thanks

I don't buy this for one minute. Nobody works this way through UPS, at least that I have ever seen.

Just be careful guys.

Thanks for the information.

I just got off the phone with the installer and we will be tackling this Monday. At the same time, we are installing a Valenitine radar detector, a LockPick and relocating the AM/FM antenna to the same area the GPS antenna sits. He is going to bring an amplified unit that should give me 75% of the factory external. I'm also thinking about installing the ISRVM video screen for a backup camera too. I like the mirror location for the camera because it is the most natural place to look. Just have to find that thread where someone posted an inexpensive source for the OEM unit. I am going to the stealerships tonight to see the different camera screens in action. Haven't decided on the camera or location yet. I do not want it on the tailgate because it will be a bigger pain to take it off.

Anyone know the part number for the factory USB cable and center console outlet? Aside from replacing speakers and amps, is there anything else I should consider while I have the truck torn apart? I hate to keep opening up the patient!

Thanks

Greg

From page 1 of this thread:

The part number for the USB port is 25966008

The part number for the USB data cable is 20828635

As for the thread about the ISRVM, I'm guessing this may be what you're looking for:

Thanks Charlie! That is the thread. Doesn't look like there are any on E-bay. The best I can find is about $400 with shipping for the mirror. I think I'll wait and see what I can do down the road. Anyone want to take bets as to how hard it will be to get the USB cable and port from the local dealer?

Depends on if they're on back-order or not. They're not restricted parts like the OnStar VCIMs....

OK, local dealer cannot tell me if these are for the base interior with bench (dash mount) or the upgraded interior with buckets (console mounted). :D

Anyone?

Zakman is the one who got the part numbers... and IIRC he doesn't have that type of console in his truck. I'm betting that pair of numbers corresponds to the base dash.

Zakman showed the pics he found (truck dash) to the parts guy who looked them up. They are probably for the truck dash.

Yes these are for the base truck with folding center console (6-pass). I don't have the part number for the center console port and cable. Sorry...

Sounds like someone should summon Rich (MS3DALE) :D

You are right but I hate to bother him. Seems like he exists to answer questions here without any compensation. I know that feeling. BTW, the parts for the base interior are not currently available through GM distribution according to mylocal dealership. Of course, neither was an under seat storage bin for m extended cab! :D
