The solenoid circled is the evap and the hose should be pointed down its a vent. As for your cruise its not the cruise fault its probably the transmission. Does the trans downshift if you try to accelerate?

Yes itll downshift if i press the throttle...

i dont have any useful info for the OP but if it was a "vent", why would it matter if it was up, down, sideways or backwards? as long as it is "venting" it would be fine.. the only reason i could see something needed to be pointed down if it were to drain something.. Im not trying to be ignorant or anything. I am just wondering if u have a reason to it, or it is just the norm..

You vent DOWN for two reasons:

 

1) so other stuff doesn't go in there where it's not supposed to be

 

2) So gravity will pull moisture and whatever you're venting out (down).
