Oil Pressure

I have an 03 1500 with 78k miles. It runs mobil 1 synthetic and the oil pressure is running 78psi. That seems high to me. What do yours usually run and what is normal? What would be the cause of having to much pressure?

my 5.3 with dino oil(mobil one) runs about 45-50 psi if its dead cold until it heats up, then around 35-42 psi when warm...what filter you got on that thing and how much oil and what grade?

also, the pressure guages aren't super accurate so don't depend on them completly

1999 nbs(gmt800) 5.3l ---- 40 idle 60 @ obo 1000rpm (174088 when I got out of a few hrs ago). Hrm, did you pull the sending unit and confirm the pressure?? I run Castrol Syntec 10w30 my truck has had it since 500 miles....

For a while my pressure dropped, I ran engine flush (1/2 bottle) and changed oil a couple times quite rapidly aka regular castrol 10w30 and engine flush for obo 5 after warm. Drop the oil and replaced filter and oil and ran the truck for about 10 minutes just off idle. Dropped oil and filter and replaced both. This time it was Syntec 10w30 and a new filter thou..... I got all SORTS of crap out..... I was not having drain back from the head.... I was on 40 off idle and about 30 on idle, thou.... Direct opposite of yours... Oh yeah I have done that 2 times (the last 2 being full strength thou) in the last few months...... Nearly plugged the filter the first go around with the engine flush.

1 can of trans tune with new oil for 500 miles, dump the oil & filter do again... works great. sometimes i'll dump a can in 100 miles (1 round trip to work) b4 oil change

note: haven't done this on truck yet, i've done this on my 03 xtreme with 4.3L

Is an advance auto filter not sure what brand, I put like 6k a year on it and its 1k miles from another oil change. I change it every 5k with 5-30 mobile 1
