Ford Announces 2011 F-Series Super Duty Power and Pulling Specs

Posted by Mike Levine | February 24, 2010

After holding our breath for five months, Ford has finally released the official power ratings for its 2011 F-Series Super Duty pickups. They are very impressive.

The all-new 2-valve SOHC 6.2-liter gasoline V-8 is rated at 385 horsepower (at 5,500 rpm) and 405 pounds-feet of torque (at 4,500 rpm), and the all-new 4-valve OHV 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 turbodiesel is rated at 390 hp (at 2,800 rpm) and an earth-shaking 735 pounds-feet (at 1,600 rpm) in the F-250, F-350 and F-450 pickups. The F-450 and up chassis cabs are rated at 300 hp and 660 pounds-feet.

Still ugly as sin, though.

It's pretty ugly. I hope GM tops it, not only with horsepower (like it ususally does), but with torque, payload, and towing capacity too.

They actually decided to use the toaster oven grill I see. Good move.

do you think that new inventory tracker keeps track of when the egos are done cooking in the grill?

The guy who designed that front end should be FIRED. The grill looks like you should pull the chrome bars down and slide your pizza in.

I Think Ford Super Doody Aftermarket Grille Sales are about to go THROUGH THE ROOF!

And this is why GM was STUPID in releasing their HD numbers ahead of Ford.

Because what did Ford do (in their typical dishonest ways)? They changed nothing on the truck yet increased their capability ratings to beat the GMs.

Further proof that Ford only cares about winning the "paper" wars and not about getting actual work done.

And Ford really needs to break this disease-like habit of making their appliances the ugliest things on the road. Everything they make is hideous.

This is probably the reason why GM wanted to challenge the 2011 Super Doody with the New 2011 Silverado HD. to get some REAL Numbers, rather than Ford's Typical Spec Inflation. I think that Ford Turned down the Challenge for this Very Reason.

Talk about a downgrade in the styling department. The new hood, front fenders, dually fenders, and grille are all way worse than any before. I am not a hate Ford person, as I like some of their products, but this truck is plain ugly.

Also, I would not even think about touching that diesel for at least a year to ensure the bugs are gone.

better make it two, you have to remember that its an ALL NEW Engine, which means NO Real World Testing. the only place that diesel has seen is a Dyno Test Cell.

Yea like the new 5.0 in the Mustang for 2011 that has a DOHC Design and it still doesn't make as much power as the LS3 in the Camaro. Thats just pathetic.

Have to agree 100% It's easy to make up a larger number when you already know what the competition has. I don't know how you can go without changing any suspension and frame designs and be able to tow more?
