Mirror Swap?

I have a 09 Silverado LT with power/heated/turn signal/power fold/auto dim driver side mirrors. The wife has a 08 Tahoe LS with power/heat only mirrors. The only diffrence in our switch housings it the fold on mine, her's is exactly the same except no fold switch. I'm thinking about getting towing mirrors and swaping my mirrors to the Tahoe. Question is what will and wont work on the Tahoe?

I can't give you a direct answer - but since no one else is answering you:

I did something similar to my 2003 Silverado.

The truck had power mirrors from the factory.

I installed the powerfold mirrors and a new control (on that model it was no extra button, but the control was still different and it mattered), and everything worked flawlessly without any other changes.

with that said, it sounds like you can swap over the mirrors and the switch and it should work fine. Just to be sure before ordering parts though I'd go ahead and take a Saturday and swap them over to test.

This has been disussed at length on this forum and no concrete answer seems to exist. The consensus seems to be that all the functions will work if you also swap the switch over with the mirrors. The biggest challenge in this swap is getting a new switch programmed to operate the power fold feature. If the vehicle wasn't originally equipped with power fold, the feature can't be "unlocked" by the GM programming tool. This info comes from a GM bulletin sent to dealers in regards to customers wanting to add the power fold feature. However, in your case, the switch is already programmed because it was in your truck. It should work fine. If you do a search on DL3 mirrors, you can find lots of info.
