Interior Door Trim Panel Discontinued By Gm

When attempting to install new rear speakers, I broke the two top plastic mounts which hold those chessy clips on the interior of the rear door trim panel (extended cab). Those things were on so tight I could barely remove the broken parts with pliers. GM has discontinued these pieces, so I'm looking for alternate solutions. I was thinking of just re-installing it and using 3M double backed trim tape across the top. I don't know if this would hold though. I guess I could try and hunt one down from a salvage yard, but my guess is that they will only sell the entire door and not part it. Anyone have any ideas?

Salvage yards will typically separate the inner trim panel from the door, as different vehciles have different color panels.

Did they discontinue all colors? What year??? I just bought one for my 1999 in pewter a couple months ago. I did the same thing (but I was just going to replace the arm rest pad)... Snapped right off same door.... It rattled and pissed me off so I replaced it.. I made sure I bent the new clips a bit so they'd be easier to get in and out with out breaking..... Plus some 3m Squeak Tape to keep it quite...

I guess if you have all the pieces and its discontinued and all the units have been sold and no BODY has it you could break out a plastic welding kit and putttter back in place...

I shoved my old one and the pieces in the box taped it up (so I would not loose anything) and put it on top of the room in the shop... One day I will fix it, maybe when I restore it....
