I'm About Ready To Get New Rotors And Pads

Are you needing rear brakes because that's what the link is? I don't think your going to need drilled rotors on the rear either, waste of money. You will not get quality performance rotors for 100 bucks (they will just warp fast).

I wouldn't cheap out on the brakes. If you don't want to spend a lot of money then go to NAPA. Otherwise spend about 210 on some PowerSlot rotors or EBC rotors. And spend another 80 bucks on either EBC pads of Hawk pads.

That link was for rears, but need fronts. On my last truck, I put slotted/drilled rotors on and noticed a good improvement in stopping. So, I'd like to go that route again. I'd certainly consider powerslots or EBC rotors and def. want ceramic pads.

Just wasn't looking to spend a grand, but more than willing to spend $250-$300 on a set with pads.

I paid $300 for my PowerSlot rotors and Hawk ceramic pads from autoanything with around 15% off. I would recommend getting name brand, not ebay and I wouldn't worry to much about drilled rotors. The slots allow gases to escape, so the brakes will be firmer.

Ditto. Don't skimp out on brakes. You get what you pay for. Cheap rotors not only warp, but will crack around holes. I used Summit Racing slotted/dimpled rotors with EBC Greenstuff pads on the last truck. They performed great and did not break the bank.

I would go with EBC dimpled and slotted rotors with EBC Green Stuff pads. I put these on my previous truck and loved them. The difference was amazing.

I just put the SSBC oversized rotors up front and Powerslot cryo-treated in the rear with Hawk Severe Duty pads front and rear. A SIGNIFICANT improvement in braking. I wanted to try the EBC Green stuff but they were on backorder for 3 weeks when I was ready.

Also agree cheap rotors will not likely last very long. In my experience, you should stick to high quality rotors or you might regret it.

I'm planning on putting on Centrics rotors (drilled and slotted) with Akebono ceramic pads. I recently installed this setup on the wife's minivan and they're great. We noticed a big difference over stock. I'll be doing the same on my truck and the our E36 convertible this spring/summer.

Where did you get them? I'm having a tough time finding a good deal. They all seem so expensive since the last time I did this...

I got them locally at a NAPA store that I used to work at years ago... They special ordered them and I got them a few days later...

I personally would go with EBC brakes. We've had good luck with them in the past. I would also recommend staying away from through drilled rotors. They have a tendency to form hairline cracks radiating from the drilled wholes. I've seen this on my brother-in-laws Trans Am as well as Corvettes, Mustangs and various GM and Ford trucks. The EBC rotors also have slots that are cut out to the edge of the rotor. This allows dirt water and gases to be vented completely off the rotor. My truck is due for brakes soon and will be getting EBC 3GD rotors and Red Stuff Pads.
