Pressure Washer Help!

So last year i bought a husky 3000 psi pressure washer @ home depot... I sprung for the 3000 psi because it had the honda engine and it was a lot better rated unit. I used it 1 time last year. Just now i go out there to clean off the driveway , connect the water hose , wand hose , fire it up and all the pressure is pouring out the side of the pump! I look down and see a rubber washer floating away and the "injection hose inlet nipple" on the ground! The thing broke right off from the threads and left the threads inside and the barbed part broke.

Now the thing is , why is all the water blowing out that spot??? When i squeeze the nozzzle i barely have standard water hose pressure with the machine turned on.... The only time i thought that thing comes into play is when you have the black cleaning tip on there which produces back pressure and siphons the soap thru.... I wanted to get this damn driveway cleaned off!

heres a pic of the online assembly instructions that show the injection part..

I found my receipt just now and it looks like it is less than a year old, bought it last july and it has a 2 year warranty... Still baffled at what could of happened

so theres a check valve by the injection inlet? I wonder if i could stick a air nozzle to it to loosen it?

Why risk causing further damage that could possibly void your warranty? I say take it back for a replacement. My brother bought the same exact pressure washer a couple of years ago. No problems with it. Great pressure washer.

Did you drain the water out during the off season? If you leave water in the pump, and it freezes, the expansion will find a way to get out of the pump.

I drained as much as i could out, and i left the PW in the back corner of out garage which does not freeze... I live in a raised ranch house (garage is under the bedrooms) and there's only 2 sides exposed to weather but the garage never freezes.. We keep all of our bottled water / pop / beer / etc stored in there and never had a problem...

X2, but it sounds like it shouldn't have been a problem in your storage space. Although soda is a different beast with the pressure in the can.

I called up the repair place today and they were closing in like 20 min due to holiday (closing @ 11:30 :P ) So the guy told me to bring it in next week.. But it is under warranty so i should be ok. I just hope it dosent take forever..... Nice weather is here and i wanna use it more than i did last year (once).

That sounds good. Freezing was just the first thing that came to mind.
