2006 Keyless Entry

I have 2006 1500 that I bought in 2008 with keyless entry, and everything was fine for about 10 months, then the battery went dead so I replaced it with an energizer replacement. That lasted for about a big week, so I thought maybe bad battery? Replaced it with a duracell, same ting but lasted less than a week!?!? I have replaced it 2 more times since then and one of them lasted for 2 weeks maximum and those things are expensive to keep replacing over and over. I am just wondering if there could be a short in my key fob itself or if anyone else has had this problem? Thanks in advance

If your key fob is chewing threw batteries that quick there is most likely a problem with it. Does your second one work fine, or did you only get one with the truck? I think I may still have 2 key fobs laying around here some where. My truck doesn't have keyless but my salesman gave me two to try out since the truck will go into programming for key fobs. If i can find them we key check the part numbers and see if they will work on your truck.

Awesome! Thanks sinkhole thatd be great because yes my truck only came with the #2 fob. The # on the back is GM15132198 and canada 109G 12021 model/fccid LHJ011. Not sure if # has to be exactly the same or if there is a cross reference but any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again

I found them. I have two #1 fobs GM15132197. Now if someone knows if they are the right ons for your truck will be good to go.

Thas awesome! I'll have to find somewhere that sells them online and cross reference them. Because theyre only off on the last digit. Yours is 7 mine is 8, so logical thinking would be that yours are 1 number ahead(7) being #1 fobs and mine is 1 number behind(8) being #2 fob. Although, I wish I could say my logical thinking always worked out. If they do work would you be willing to work out some kind of a trade for something maybe? Need a stock CD player or speakers? Or how much you'd like to let them go for. Upon looking I found this site, if you could take a look and see if this tells you the same thing as me, that they would work
