Predator Diablo Vs. Blackbear Tune

I doubt the predator/diablo can record as many PIDs during a datalog as an EFI-Live autocal. /end thread

it can read/log whatever parameters the ecm/pcm can report...

simply use a laptop with diablo's DataViewer logging software (free download), and if the PID is reported by your ecm/pcm, you can log it...

Sure, in pass through mode. I'm talking logging with the unit only what are the memory constraints?

Predator is gone. Outdated. A canned tune will always be inferior to a custom tune. But some of their newer Diablo tuners allow custom tunes like Blackbear does with Autocal.

Edited to clear up my backwards-ness.

Predator is gone, Diablo (the company) is still a live and well. Agree that a canned tune is inferior but the intune device with a custom tune is damn sweet! I'm sure there are others just as good if not better, but I have no experience with them.

Whew I was even more confused for a minute there (not hard).

I am thinking about this guy for a custom with the Diablo: http://www.diablewtune.com/package_deals.html

He is active here (06MonteSS) but BlackBear gets great reviews also.

Blackbear lets you tune mulitple vehicles and the Diablo only one correct?

Yeah I fixed it so I won't confuse anyone else. I had a Predator (one vehicle at a time only BTW) and I couldn't remember if it was a Predator Diablosport or if it were the other way around. No idea if the new ones can do more than one vehicle at once, sorry.

Wow- old thread!!

In a nut shell- the AutoCal is a remote custom tuner. There are 8 available slots on the device, so you can tune up to 8 vehicles with it. For the $579 price, you receive tuning/licensing for one vehicle.

The tunes are built off of datalogs you email in. The tune is then built specific to your vehicle and your requests. You keep the device, and tune updates are free for the life that you own the vehicle. The software used for tuning is EFILive.

Diablew is who tuned mine, my decision came down to TCM tuning as diablo can and BB can't right now. I'm sure BB does great ECM tunes but with no TCM tune, there is a lot left on the table.
