Just recieved my new Sierra with leather, the manual says just wipe with a damp cloth, no leather care needed, but when I took delivery the dealership had used a conditioner on it, any thoughts please?

Needs cleaned regularly to remove dirt, oils and other gunk that builds up on it with normal use. Best I've ever used was Zaino Leather Soft Spray Cleaner:

If you need tougher cleaning, a magic eraser & some woolite/water can be used for spots...among many other things, as long as they don't damage the leather or coloring. A dedicated leather cleaner is integral to a good conditioner.

Once cleaned, needs conditioned regularly to keep it soft, moisturized, and long lasting without cracking, drying out, etc. Damp cloth for something that spills or dust, but you always want to keep it conditioned with a quality conditioner. Best I've ever used was Zaino Leather in a Bottle:

I use Meguiars Gold Glass leather cleaner/conditioner. I vacuum all the dirt out of the cracks with a brush attachment on the shop vac, then apply the conditioner about every 3-4 months. Remember to do the center console lid and the steering wheel leather also. The oils from your skin are actually not good for leather. I've done this for both the '08 Silverado and '08 Acadia and the leather still looks like new after two years.

I was using the Meguiars Gold Class leather cleaner and conditioner, but I switched to the same product in the Spray form. It smells great, & makes the ebony leather look really nice.

I've used both the Meguiars and the Zaino. Both are excellent products. I would probably place the higher marks on the Zaino products only because it smells like you got new leather when your done.

Same here.

Also, for those who don't know, Yankee Candle makes auto air fresheners and the one they sell in the "leather" scent smells EXACTLY like Zaino Z-10.

Anyone use Lexol products ??

I use Lexol. We had a panel on our old 93 blazer replaced and the upholstery shop recommended Lexol. I have dark grey seats so you don't see the dirt very easy and in my spring clean this year, my shop towels were black. After that I used the Lexol conditioner.

Doesn't make the seats slippery either which is great. Keeps the leather looking new :dunno:
