Bonjour!

I searched and read everything and just need a confirmation. I want new rims for my truck. Right now I have a 3" BL with 2" leveling kit. I will eventually get either a 4" or 6" susp. lift as well but for now will buy the rims only and want rims that will work with my current setup as well as my future setup.

With that being said if I buy 18x9 with a +18mm offset with a backspacing of around 5.5 - 5.7 I should have no issues running either 33"s or 35" correct?

If im wrong, its not my fault because I did some searching LOL!

Merci Beaucoup!

hey stef,

with your current lift setup and those wheels you'll be able to run 33s.

35s would require significant trimming.

Shouldnt have any issues based off your specified information you posted, I am running 18x9 with a even 5" backspace and so far no rubbing issues street driving wise, havent taken it off road yet, but I know with the flexing it will most likely rub; then again I dont offroad much so its no biggie to me.

*edit*

I know you shouldnt have issues with a 6" lift, dont know much about 4.

The rims are fine with whatever lift you have! The dimensions you mentioned above will place the wheel in the same approximate location as your stock ones.

Just to clerify...

The 33" tires will work on your GMT900 series truck with your current 2" level and 3" body lift, but I am pretty sure you have to do at least a 5"+ suspension lift before going to the 35" tire. Sorry, if that is actually what you meant by the quote above!!

Just sayin what has already been said. I have the same setup you currently have and 33's are biggest you can go. Now once you add a suspension then 35's will fit

hey guys!

Yeah I already know that I'll only be able to run 33's with my current setup and will only buy 35's when I lift the truck another 4 or 6". The only question I really have is if the rim spec I posted (backspacing) will work with both my current and be able to work with a lift in the future. I only want to buy rims once so i want them to fit 33s now and 35s later.

Let me know! :( There just really isnt that much info on wheel backspacing on the site! Sorry! :(

i dont know of all of them off the top of my head, but i think a few lift kits may require 5.0" backspace with 18" wheels and 5.7" would work with 20" wheels.

Do you have any ideas of which kits you'll lean to in the future? Just make sure to look up their wheel requirements...

For 4" im gonna go Rancho and for 6" i want to go BDS and will probably stick with 18s. If I stick with the 4" rancho lift I should have no issues with a 18" 5.7 backspace +18mm offset rim right?

Yes. Those wheels should work with both the Rancho and the BDS. Of course it's always worth a 2 minute phone call to verify when spending lots of money.
