For starters I read the manual, I used the searched function so I am not entirely stupid but the dome lighting on my truck does not work, maybe im just not getting it or who knows, the dome override button is extended and when you open the door the interior/exterior cargo lights do not come on, now if I turn it all the way till it clicks on then they are on but doesnt seem to shut off, am I suppose to start the truck to reset it all or is it suppose to turn on regardless, I have 80% tint on the truck and its pretty dark especially at night so the lights turning on would be very helpful, headlights/reverse lights turn on when the truck is unlocked but no interior lighting. Let me know if I am doing something wrong or if I have to do something special to make it work, im sure this is a simliar topic but I searched and it all says to look at the manual, I did that while being in the truck, the truck is a 2010 Silverado.

next to the headlight switch there is three buttons. press the top one with the pic of the dome light with the line through it. you just have the no dome light set, just need to press the button once to get them back on.

Are you talking about the dome override switch or the 4 buttons next to it that lets you control different options, well 3 one of whiche being the check mark.

since it sounds like you know that the dome overide is not pushed then the previous post isn't going to help. Try pulling the fuse panel that is on the driver's side end of the dash. This can be done by opening the driver's side door and pulling the end cap. no locate the fuse that is labeled courtesy. check to make sure that it isn't blown. This is the fuse that leads from the BCM to the lights, this is the wire that triggers the fade effect.

I just bought the truck yesterday, sure as hell better not be blowing fuses or defective already.

When I got mine it had been on a lot for a while. When i pulled my end cap someone had already used one of the spare fuses. I think that sometimes bad fuses are installed.

Ok well I feel stupid now, I never realized that there is physically a button above the dome override dial, if you push it in the dome shuts off, if its not pushed in then they dim on slowly and when locked they turn off, thanks for all everyones help, new truck new stuff, gonna take me awhile to learn it all.
