Worst Driving Habits Ever

after driving home tonight and dealing with drivers that operate a vehicle about as good as a escaped ape...i was just curious what kind of driver habits drive you guys to the looney bin, please add after what you consider a horrible driving habit why you think its bad...

 

1) dry steering(wtf theirs a reason its an automatic fail on some driving tests, it rapes the front suspension)

 

2) WOT from a dead stop at every stop light(what the hell is wrong with people, besides beating the drivetrain like a drum.its also feeding the greed of the oil companys even more)

 

3) people that can't drive a stick shift and end up over reving or dropping the clutch trying to be a hotshot( fast and the furious was a movie not reality!)

 

4) piss poor maintance, you know the guys that drive the truck till the oils like baby poop and then when the engine gives out they blame the brand( its called an owners manuel..****in read it)

 

5) People that tailgate (i drive a truck not a time machine, give me a break)

 

6) People that start their vehicle, move it 3 feet shut it off..10 minutes later start it again and then rinse and repeat( do people not realise you burn more fuel and cause more wear are tear by starting up and shutting down then by just letting it idle for a few minutes!?)

 

7) People that drive vehicles like they just got out on parole and stole the first thing they found( watch nascar, don't live it)

 

8) People with minivans that fill it full of shit then throw a trailer on the bumper and fill that full of another 1000 pounds( pick up the kids, get grocerys....everything else get a fullsize truck amen)

 

all i got for now, give me time for a few more beers and i'll be reloaded lol, i don't mean to offend anyone its just honest fun and a way to blow a little steam...cheers

that first one, I TRY to be within a few miles within the due date. and that second one, I joke that the person behind me wants the optional Silverado Snowplow Package for their vehicle. or if they are on two wheels, i complain of not wanting to clean them off the tailgate when i get home!

tailgaters don't really bother me if anything they show me how much of an a## driver i am i'll slow down to the speed limit if i'm already speeding. if i'm doing the speed limit i'll go under it.

 

things that bother me are red light runners, people who don't use turn signals, people who don't use turn signals and don't even look before entering a lane, those who can't merge onto a high way properly (doing 40 when entering a 65 mph highway isn't merging properly). People who don't stop @ red lights before turning right and then get mad b/c the person w/ the green light making a u-turn almost hits them. The retards @ wally world that can't read the big red octagon that says "STOP" on it and want to blow right through it making me almost hit them thus enabling me to test my air horns out literally right in their face...there are more but i'm an angry person so i'll shut up now

Mine is people who dont use their turn signals and those who put it on last minute before making their turn. Second, getting behind senior citizens who drive big a$$ boats which they have the tendancy to drive extremely slow and scared. Third, the dumb teenagers who think they are invisible when they weeve in and out of traffic. Fourth, the ricers.... I had a Jetta once that I tuned, but never did I degrade the car by putting on a "fart can" in the rear and assuming I was Mario Andretti at the race track. Fifth and final, people on the highway/interstate/freeway who ride on the left lane and get passed by numerous cars on the right and still dont change langes, to me if I am getting passed by a few cars on the right lane and I am on the left, I need to move my a$$ on over to the right to allow faster traffic to pass.

taking an off ramp from the outside lane, cutting across 2 or 3 lanes...

the non use of indicators bother me as well, as does people with burnt out lights.

Also, people that drive 10 under the speed limit, there is a group of people called "the mobile speed bumps" that actually advertise that they drive 10 under to help and slow down traffic, and cut down on accidents. IMO it would help cause more accidents, people will just get pissed off with you and pull out and pass, sometimes in not so safe places...How's that helping anything...there is a speed limit for a reason...do it. And If traffic is moving faster than the limit...keep up...don't try and slow everyone down for your own self righteous ideals.

 

IMO, when your license expires...3, 5 etc years, you should have to do a small written test and a short road test, not like you did when you first got them, just something to prove you still can drive safely and know the basic rules of the road. Its a privilege to drive...and like any privilege, it can be taken away if abused.

people that do not move out of the way on a 2 lane road... you can be tailgating them about 2 feet away and the right lane will be empty and they still will not move out of the way...

 

and civics and other shitbox cars and whatnot that have fart cannons on them just piss me off

That depends on which state you are in. The states I have driven in have signs that tell you way ahead of the 'merge point' to merge right/left, the cones are just a reminder of what you were told to do back up the road

 

and if both lanes are filled, it usually moves traffic slower, not faster.....

 

1) people who don't use cruise control (you know, theones thast you poass on CC, and then a few minutes later they pass you, and a few minutes later you pass them)

2) people who think if the turn signal blinks once, everyone else willstop so you can make your move

3) people who think the yield sign means highway traffic must yield to them as they merge, not vice-versa

4) people who intentionally drive thru an intersection on anything other than green (yellow doesn't mean hurry up and go)

5) people who try to force their way into traffic, whether is is a contruction zone or not (if you have been waiting, I'll let you in, but if I see you cut out of traffic in my rearview mirror and then try to cut back in in front of me, ain't happening)

People that pull out in front of you from a side street and make you hit your brakes and drive under the speed limit when there is nobody behind you, they could have WAITED till you came by then pull out.

1) people who practice "fuel-safe" driving. It takes them approximately 4 years to get to the speed limit, and then they think their shit dont stink because they are saving the environment. Honestly, if your that worried about the environment, and that cautious about using fuel, then you really shouldn't be driving. Eco-friendly driving is NOT SAFE DRIVING!

2) Ridiculously slow drivers; the ones that do maybe half the speed limit on a good day.

3) People who use their cruise control when passing someone.

4) People who don't use their signals and then give you the finger for not letting them into the lane

5) people who slam on their brakes in the far left lane, to cut across three lanes of traffic to backtrack to an off ramp that they missed.

6) People who cant corner properly; downshift, brake and then corner, hit the apex, accelerate. Slows me down when i try to hit all the apexes on a complex off-ramp or merge corner. -- usually whenever i drive my track car on the streets.

7) Cell-phones and drivers.

 

You don't see how bad people are at driving until you have been on the track for a while. Aggressive performance driving will save your life and makes you a better driver. After spending 7-9 hours on a race track doing half the speed of sound into turn one and avoiding collisions and whatnot with other fast cars, flying around corners at twice highway speeds, properly looking where your going, heel-toe, proper braking... what was once a "fast" highway is now in slow motion and you can pick out everything... its incredible.

 

The reason why we have such bad drivers is because of how we are educated on driving. How many people on the road actually know what to do when a deer jumps out in-front of them? How many know what to do when their car starts sliding around? Part of the drivers-ed should be taken on a race track with a bunch of instructors, teaching kids what to do to avoid collisions and control their vehicles properly.... JUST LIKE FINLAND!* Top Gear

i hate to say this, but when I am taking my sister to (whats left of) Nashville, She does not like me using the Breeze's Cruise control. but when I'm in the truck with dad, the Cruise gets fired up, and my feet get comfy!

oh and to add to the Fart Cannon issue, I recently Took one of those pieces of Garbage OFF of the Breeze to make myself less of a Police Magnet.
