I Got My Mudflaps Installed

Recommended Posts

I bought the GM Mudflaps through GM Parts Direct and finally got them installed today. The only problems I noticed were the following.

1. The front mud flaps don't install like I think they should. There are three screws into the fender well and one down below on the rocker panel. If you put the three screws in you won't get the rocker arm panel screw in and if you put the rocker arm screw in first you won't get the other three screws holes to line up. I did finally put the three screws in and then forced the rocker arm panel in place.

2.The rear ones were a little harder for me to install since I broke my back several years ago and those wheels are at the limit of what I can lift to get them back on the truck. The problem I had was it said to use a 7/64 drill bit to drill the holes. The screws would not go in and I finally used a 1/8 drill and the screws went in tight but where you could use a hand screwdriver.

Here are some pics of the truck. The only thing left I think I am going to do right now is to black out the rear fender wells like someone did on this board.

Do you have the part numbers for the mudflaps? Thanks.

The Bow Ties are only on the rear.

I just checked the mud flaps on my truck - they are the GM molded type and they have Chevy bow ties on both front and rear. But these are 2006 mud flaps, not the latest ones.

i have the molded ones also, got raped for them at the dealer but they look nice...they are a major major pain in the ass to put on..it took me and my buddy to man handle the rear ones just to line the holes up, the fronts are impossible to get on..

I had that type on my 02 Silverado. They had a white outlined Bow Tie on the them.

The Bow Ties are only on the rear.

I remember that I had some issues with the front ones - they supplied a square plastic insert to be placed in a round hole.(DUH?) I reused one of the original push pins that scured the fender flare. My truck came with factory fender flares.

I installed the front pn 19212550 ($16.84)and they were an easy 15min install. all of the holes lined up easy and I just turned my 20's.

I ordered the rear with white bow pn 192133393 (replaces 1915477?) ($21.24) tie but am going to change for the gold you have. Dealer prices.

Oh and the dealer wanted $70 pair to install!

Did you guys have to remove the rear wheel/tire to get the holes drilled, or is there another way...?
