Tsb On Tranny

I have a 2009 silverado cc with a 6 speed tranny. Does anyone know if there is another tsb on this tranny besides the pip-4395 one? This is the third time my truck is going into the shop, they keep telling me they cant replicate the issue. I have issues with it shuddering when shifting occasionally, shifting hard, and it just doesnt feel normal or good at all. Any advice or input would be appreciated. I had a 2007 silverado and am kinda wishing i would have kept it now, it had the 4 speed. Truck only has 3700 miles on it.

I say good luck...... My 2009 2500HD's 6L90E slips from second to third religously after any startup, hot or cold. Then it hunts and dithers around once the operating temp gets up on it. Had it in multiple times even with different dealers and get the same "We can't replicate crap". If this wasn't a company truck I would take it in the night prior and make the service guy ride with me driving..... But I don't care that much with this thing. Instead I put it to the floor everytime I know it will slip as it is making it worse which is great. I hope this tranny just up and stops shifting altogether... There is a TSB that states to change some O-rings in the valve body but it is for 2008 and older models only so they won't do it. That's okay, I am sure I can burn this pile up long before the warranty expires. If the tards won't attempt to repair it, they can replace the whole thing......... But to be brutally honest if I owned this truck I would have either sold it or burnt it by now..... I am getting a different brand company truck hereafter, might as well have new problems to deal with........

I called the dealer yesterday and at least they know i am pissed about it. So maybe they will do something about it now. If not i have no idea what i am going to to do next. Maybe call gm directly, dont know if it would help or not.

I wonder if this is a common problem with these transmission, or an isolated assembly or part quality issue.

I'm having so many issues with shuddering, shaking, vibration and anymore, weird shifting with rough and jiggly downshifts and such, interested to see if there's anything beyond what is online. I have other vibration issues, but anymore the trans seems to be a contributor.

Same trans in my G8 GT, driven much harder, same model year, never an issue. Loved it. Different engine and weight aside, something is up with the truck, among other things. With the G8, I remember a TSB that applied to many for "flare" at certain shifts like 2-3 or 3-4, where it would seem to slip, and this was the O-ring/etc. problem, but not sure if this is the same thing?

If all else fails call the Better Business Bureau Auto Line @ 800-955-5100 and start a complaint. I had to do this with an 01 Silverado that I had with a vibration problem that they couldn't solve. Gm ended up buying the truck back. They refunded all my payments and trade-in allowance. So I basically drove the truck for 9 months for free. :noway:

Been there, too many times. Bought a new '08 Pontiac G6 coupe in June '08. Problems from day #2. GM repurchased in September '08. Replaced by an '09 Malibu, enjoyed it, but transmission shuddering issues. Got GM customer service involved, they sent 2 engineers & gave me a data logger to drive with. Before they could investigate further, traded it for an '09 G8 GT in February '09. G8 was great, finally. Traded the G8 for the Avalanche this February, wanting a truck after having an '02, now this. Joy.

Back to the trans discussion...found an interesting thread on Edmunds at least related to shudders, vibrations, and the like with '07+ Tahoes, Suburbans, and Avalanches. Anything from tires to the transmission to driveshafts, and other things.

The shift "flaring" that feels like slipping was common enough for the 6L80E, hence a TSB, but not likely what the first poster, me or others are talking about. That was a common thing, but are there any other TSB's about the trans...

Dont know details about the TSB but I'd also like to add my 6l80 to the fire. The thing shifts like crap, not smooth and I can freaken feel every upshift and downshift. Just spend 150 bucks out of my pocket to get the TCM updated but it didnt help.

The same trans coupled to a 6.0L in my G8 GT was beautiful, stock or Vector tuned. It was tuned for most of my driving, but either way.

Had the truck tuned, didn't really change much in relation to the trans, just a little crisper. Just not my G8, that's for sure, power and weight wise making the difference--the 6L80E is a solid, well designed piece. All comes down to the application.

Hey don't I remember you from the Cheers and Gears Forums? I remember you posting about your issues with the G6 and Malibu.

I have the six speed as well and really like the way my wife's '08 suburban with 4 speed shifted better. I have taken mine in to the dealer and they basically said I'm just going to have to get used to the way the six speed shifts. I feel my 1-2 shift is way to pronounced. Not really a hard shift but feels more like a manual tranny shifting. I know this doesn't help but before I purchased my '09 silverado I was considering a Ford and reading through their forums they seem to be having alot of problems with their six speed. I had an '07 Titan before the chevy and it wasn't nearly as refined as far as interior but the drivetrain was awesome. It put alot of power to the wheels but the gas mileage sucked. Good luck getting your problem resolved.

i had the dealer reflash mine, actually demanded it but that was after my 4th radio went out (5th now but thats a differnt story) so they just did it cause they knew i already had GM cust. service involved. It quit doing it after that but really wasnt real bad, just missed some shifts. (they did it to my G8 and it made a differance too) The best way to get it done is call them but tell them no way do you want to go to the dealer you went to last time and tell them about them blowing you off. Have the 2-3-4 flair shift TSB # ready and stick to your guns. Make sure you let them know about buying a new truck and how pissed you are, talk about brand change blah blah blah. Repeat/happy customers mean repeat business.

At least I know I am not the only one. I am going on vacation till tuesday, so I told them they can have it till I get back, and that it had better shift and drive a little better. Or I am going to take the next step and start contacting gm. Thanks to all that chimed in.

The new 5 and 6 speed automatics from everybody shifts funny..... I have yet to get in one that did not do a weird quivery shift or two while I was driving it.... That would be Allison's, GM, & Ford...... Just my opinion but I think a lot of it has to do with the extra gears and the skip shift some do. I know ford 5 speeds will jump a gear depending on how you are driving.... I figure GM does it too. When it skips gears it FEELS weird I had to hook up with my scan tool in a couple before I noticed they would jump a gear occasionally..
