Is A Truck A Reflection Of Its Owner?

Do you guys think a truck's looks and or condition are a reflection of its owner? for example..A truck that runs like the last time it had a tune up was at the factory kind of makes it seem like the owner is either lazy or dosen't care about his things....idk thought of it on the long drive home after seeing another moronic driver beating his diesel to blow soot

I just think that people who don't wash/wax or do preventive maintainence are either rich or lazy. Most rich people don't seem to care how they take care of them because they can just buy another one. It bothers me when people don't take care of vehicles because when they get rid of them someone else suffers from how they abused it because they have to fix it.

i hear ya, specially the guys that lease a truck and beat the snot out of it then turn it in to get a newer one...then down the road another guy buys it and it takes a massive crap on him...

I washed my 2003 4 or 5 times in the 3 years I owned it. I regularly towed 7k to 10k, and occasionally 14k lbs.

 

It was a work truck (with push button 4x4, leather, XM, Bose, and power everything).

yesterday driving home i seen a nissan titan (lifted) that was towing an enclosed trailer. The headlights were pointing to the sky like the space shuttle. All I could think was thats smart, I dont want to be behind him (scared he wouldnt be able to stop). Wish I had a camera MORON they make tow ratings for a reason

I agree with the OP... what is funny my mom always told me a car is a reflection of an individual. To sum it up, she told me normally "geeky" people would drive station wagons as soccer moms drove SUV. Which is kind of funny, cause if anybody here has seen any of the National Lampoon movies, the Griswalds drove that famous "Family Truckster" But like many have said a dirty car does represent a persons reflection which tells me that if their car looks like that, what does the house look like. I understand that not everyone washes their rides every week, but those who dont do it period thats another story. What really eats me up is people riding around with so much brake dust on their wheels, you can no longer see the original finish and the wheel looks like a doodoo brown color.

With my old truck I used to wash it weekly. With my new truck (and Tahoe) I am lucky to get to it every other week. It pains me but with the new baby, work, stuff around the house, school which I finished a few wks ago it made it hard. Things should be slowing down and I will have more time. I would love to not have it dirty at all for more than a day but its not realistic. So if you see my truck and its dirty trust me thats not a reflection on me.

See...dirty can mean multiple things...

 

If it has road grime and water spots , and a smattering of mud or dust here and there, the person is probably like you...Good intentions, but life just gets in the way....

 

If it has wheels covered in brake dust, smeared windows, and just looks like it hasn't been washed in months...or since the last rain fall...than thats totally different.

 

You can tell how old dirt is.

I try and wash the truck every week...but sometimes things come up.

Also, for people that live in dusty or dirt areas, The way you keep the inside speaks volumes...

Sometimes you just cant keep the outside clean.

I so wish I had a camera it was dragging the rear end real low. He kept eyeing my truck probably wish he had mine to tow whatever he was towing in the box.
