For all of you running various AVIC units in your new trucks, i'm curious to know your experiences with the PAC SWI-PS steering wheel radio controller. I am trying to collect info on which functions work and don't work compared to the factory controls. I see they've recently came out with a firmware update for the PAC device that says it works with bluetooth recieve and end calls. Do you guys have these functions? Does this unit have the ability to save two different functions to a single button like the factory controls do? IE I can press the middle button and get mute but it also answers a call when bluetooth is rining, and summons on-star if i press and hold. Thanks in advance for any info you have.

I have the unit and it works OK, I'm running an Avic X910BT. There is a slight delay from button press to execution and I find that I need to firmly press the buttons to get them to register. The instructions don't mention any way to program as you described. I sure wish they did because I currently have my up / down buttons programmed to move sirius presets but when I listen to my iPod I have no way to advance the song. I didn't know the onstarr would register but as soon as I press my onstarr button on the mirror my deck goes to ATT and is basically locked until onstarr completes.

I have the z100bt and SWI-PS with the OS4 interface, all are the latest versions. After many problems with the instructions for the SWI-PS, I re-read the OS4 instructions and those are what you follow. SWI-PS must be set to version 2 and do NOT cut the brown wire loop. I had issues with controls being changed when the truck was started or off, something with a change in voltage that scrambles the SWI.

After setting version 2 and reprogramming, all the issues are fixed. It performs just as well as factory, instant response. As for the mute/Answer button, yes the mute still mutes the radio and if pressed for 1.5 seconds it will work onstar/factory bluetooth. Although using the z110bt bluetooth is better IMHO. You can't program a double feature to one button to function on the radio.

Has the problem above been fixed? Or do you still only have the scan function for one of a particular number or sources?
