New Leaf Springs!

Well they installed them today. So far so good. Sounds much more solid, no noises whatsoever. I must say just looking and comparing my old springs to the new ones it seems like my old ones were more compressed than the new ones. I still have my theory of noise due to the truck being starpped down to tight to the train/truck. We will see how these hold up. I hope for more than 5K miles

Could be one of the old springs was just improperly assembled. Who knows where they are made and by whom. Also, maybe they were installed incorrectly on the vehicle.

I am surprised that my Z71 has only three leaves on the rear springs. I do not have any noises or problems with the springs, but they seem rather weak for a 4X4 pickup. Well, as least compared to my deuce and half which has a stack of about 10 leaves in the back on each side.

I dont know where the old ones were made but the new ones were made in Ohio (they left the stickers on the springs). I am surprised, my old 2000 springs were stamped on the bottom MEXICO.

Had a new 75 Camaro that had a vibe at 25mph. Dealer had the car for 3 days before calling me & saying that the pinion angle was off due to sagged springs in the rear from the factory. Replaced the springs - no more vibe. It can happen.

So I'm not the only one that thinks only 3 leafs look rather weak under the truck? I'm in the process of putting new leafs in

Here s my theory. I THINK that the bushings on the front and rear mount of the leaf springs are the issues and maybe they are pressed into the spring (that s why they ordered the whole springs). A bad batch of bushings????

I agree that they are weak packs. I have an AAL in mine and it still sags pretty bad. I am locating some 2500 packs now.

What did they cost?

I think the three leaves are pretty good for regular use. They sure ride good. Don't work so well when you start towing though. I put SuperSprings on my truck. Did harden the ride a hair though.

The stock springs are like $200 a piece
