This is well within normal. Min is like 6psig at idle, 24 i think going down the road. Depends on the truck too. my 2000 with 180000 has 60 psig while driving.

The typical spec is 10 psi per 1000 rpm. 40 psi at hot idle is great. My 2005 8.1L with only 12K miles is 25 psi at hot idle with 5W40 oil. At 2000 rpm it is 40 psi (hot). What are you comparing it to that 40 psi at idle seems low to you?

39/40 psi is at highway speeds...drops to around 20 at warm idle

I'm "old school" and oil pressure at over 1500 rpm should/would be at least 50 pounds

New stuff runs hotter and has lower oil pressure....lol
