i dint abus emy truck at all ... did some donuts on it

 Yeah, that's not abusing your truck. :uhoh:

Oh, and maybe try for punctuation/capitalization/proper sentence structure next time? It helps make things readable and understandable.

i had to have another beer before i could remotely break that code of jiberish, if mud pits and donuts aren't abuse to you then what is? my guess is you ruined something in your front end or the power steering pump nuked...my truck is 6 years old, guess how much abuse i have put on it? ZERO i value my truck, hell i value the cheap socks on my feet..damn kids these days

This was definately the wrong thread to read before 7:00am! :uhoh:

Whatever your problem is (besides spelling, grammar and the English language), I hope you find it and get it fixed!!

Ironic that yet another grammar-less person comes sailing in to his "rescue"

We're not text messaging here, folks, we're posting to a message board looking for technical information and advice. If you want accurate answers you have to use a clear and understandable form of language when presenting the symptoms of your concern. That means capitalization, punctuation, proper sentence and paragraph formation, and no lazy abbreviations that mean nothing.

And as for "who cares what he does with his truck" I would say what he does with his truck IS relevant -- it points to a potentially continuous pattern of mistreatment and poor maintenance that resulted in the catastrophic failure of the power steering system. Whether the pump simply locked up due to lack of lubrication, or the system overheated and built up excessive pressure, or a combination of the two, it isn't hard to figure out what the problem is and know/realize that under normal circumstances that sort of failure simply wouldn't happen.

Accept it or not, the kid beat on his truck without knowing or thinking about what problems that would cause, and now he's paying the price while lying to himself that he was being responsible and clinging to the hope that there's a simple fix when clearly there isn't.

From what I can gather (which was not very much), you took your truck through a mud bog and otherwise beat the hell out of it and your steering wheel was hard to turn and the reservoir belched some fluid. Here's where I'd start...

Jack the truck up (use jackstands, please). Move the wheels back and forth by hand, checking for anything making a weird noise or anything that looks bent or is binding up. If you can move the tires pretty easily and nothing is making noise chances are nothing is messed up steering/suspension parts wise and the problem is probably the power steering pump. At this point, the easiest way to tell would be to start the truck and keep turning the wheels while off the ground and see if fluid spews from the reservoir. If it does after a while, the pump is broken.

In very lame terms, if the pump isn't moving fluid, turning the wheels will. Only problem is that turning the wheels with the pump broken (or the engine off) will build up pressure and eventually fluid will spew from the reservoir (which is basically what you described).

Edit: Just noticed your truck is a 2008. Wash the mud off real good and bring it to the dealer. Should be warranty material.

 to the diagnosis. I've left grammar and spelling beside the computer every now and again but, punctuation seems more important than capitalization. LOL.

does the steering wheel get tighter/looser as your turn it? ie, does it feel like it binds at a particular spot?

when driving, does the truck go straight? does it pull hard to either side?

does the pump reservoir have power steering fluid in it? does it make any noises?

depending on these answers.. its either the pump is shot or your steering rack is shot.

either way, from your description of the symptoms, its likely a job that you will want to bring to a shop to take care of.... probably not going to be something simple like a fuse...

The old pumps used to have holes in the pulleys to remove the mounting bolts. Not sure about the new ones. Rack removal is a b*tch but do-able. Let us know what the issue was as it may help the next guy.
