Transfer Case Question

I purchased a new 2010 K-1500 Ext cab Silverado two months ago in the new Taupe Grey Metallic. This truck has the manual transfer case with the shift lever on the floor. I crawled under the truck recently to see what brand of 'case it had in it and saw no tags on it. I don't believe it is a New Process transfer case. Could it be a Borg Warner? I am very happy with the truck to date. If anyone knows the answer to my question, I would appreciate your input. I'll try to post some pics of the truck in the near future. Thanks!

Look in the glove box at the GM parts identification sticker and it will either have a NP1, NP2, NP3, or NP8. I bet it's the NP2. :)

Designed by Magna Steyr in Austria, built at New Process Gear until a few months ago and now built by Magna in Saltillo. RPO is NQG. Transfer case is an NQG-LD 27T assuming you have a 4 speed AT.

Thanks for the info. The truck has the 4L60-E 4 spd auto. The truck has a build date of 2-16-10, so there is a good chance this unit might have been built in Syracuse. Is this typically a durable, reliable transfer case?

The manual shift is the least troublesome of them all. Most of us who worked there don't think it's as strong as the NV261 it replaced. On the plus side you don't have to worry about pump rub. If you were to have any problem at all I would expect it to be seal leaks, especially the front output seal. The seal used is not as good as the front output seal used in the NV261/263/246 as that one was very pricey (~$6  ). I wouldn't expect any trouble from it.
