First Trip With New Truck....

I drove 260 miles round trip today and got 15.6 mpg at 78 mph. It now has 1200 miles on it. Should it get better as it breaks in?

ah, funny guy. He probably was speeding, but remember there are some places with a higher speed limit. I know the stretch of interstate between Omaha and Lincoln, NE use to have a 75MPH speed limit several yrs ago. Not sure if it has changed. Several states have also considered raising the speed limit.

My truck gets about the same economy today (~20k miles) as when it was new. If anything, it's a bit worse since I baby it during those first few k miles.

It is; but most cops here won't bother anyone unless they're going 80+.

Parts of Montana don't even have a speed limit. Some areas of oklahoma have 75 or even 80 MPH speed limits. Now I have never been out to oklahoma but that is what I have been told.

The speed limit was 70 and at 78 my gps says 75. It was with 93 gas.

6.2 with 3.73 gears? I'd say that was pretty impressive. It might get a bit better, but then it'll start tailing off.

That's about what I average running 89 octane.

I had a quad in the box, 4 on a trailer and 5 guys in they truck, we got 12.5 at 78 mph. They really missed my crew cab.
