Coudn't be happier

:D

What a smooth ride

The 4.8-2wd-3.23 limited slip combo is JUST what the doctor ordered for my daily commuting

Plenty of pep, good looks, and a super-sweet deal also

Here it is

The crew there gave me Chevy employee Discount pricing AND they gave me $7400 on my trade, a 2000 Silverado with 157k on the clock. It would have been INSANE to walk away from that deal. I'm surprised how I got near-Chev-employee pricing when I work at a GMC store.

Oh well, off to give it a wash

And as far as you guys debating the 4-speed vs 6-speed trans, I'll personally stick with the proven 4L60E. It's a proven trans, and the gearing is perfect for this truck. I dislike all the constant "busy-shifting" the 6-speed behaves in town

I wanted to get the 4.8 V8 because 1-No AFM to deal with and 2-302 horsepower out of the 4.8...lemme at it...

Thanks!!

Truck was built on May 21, 2010

Only 2 things I want to **maybe** do to it

1-upgrade to leather steering wheel?? is it really worth it??

2-dic button panel

Leather wheel is worth about 10,000 dollars. It completely changes the feel of the truck (keep in mind that is all you actually "touch" when driving most of the time). DIC panel is a no-brainer. You need both.

I would add the 5.3L or 6.2L upgrade to your list.

I haven't driven a 4.8 and I always believe bigger is better, but the 4.8 has about 10hp less than the 5.3. I am not sure of the torque difference, but I can't imagine the 5.3 would be that big of a difference. Now the 6.2 is a different story, but not something I would do personally as an upgrade.

I stepped up from the 4.8, I can tell the difference even stock. The real difference was when I added a cold air intake to her after the lift (old truck). I was getting 15-16 city running '35 tires. I loved it.

Great looking truck, don't worry about the leather steering wheel, odd that it didn't come with one and what's even odder is that that limited slip diff?

The 5.3 offers better fuel economy than the 4.8. As for the "busy" six speed shifting, I don't know where you experienced that at, but my six speed shifts great.

Many of you may be thinking..."you are in WI, no 4x4??"

I have owned 4x4 equipped SUV's and Trucks for the past 8 or 9 years or so.

If I average out all the times I actually USE the 4x4 over the past few winters, it averagoes out to 2 or 3 times per season.

Not a necessity, IMO.

This '10 has locking diff, stabilitrak, AND traction control.

I tested out a 2010 Sierra this past Jan after a snowstorm...it was a 2wd W/T. It actually had an open diff, but it had traction control and stabiltrak. I can't tell you guys enough how impressed I was with that test drive. "4x4 not needed anymore..." was my initial thoughts... Didn't matter what I did to that truck...it steered straight ahead and actually moved itself straight ahead...all with the help on Stabilitrak and Trac Control.

So, I was looking into purchasing something with no "ridiculous options." Not having to pay $900 for a rear defog package, and not having to pay $1200 for fog lights. Look up what I mean on GMC's site. Look up option packages.

Nice rig, dont matter which V-8 just as long as your happy. My dad only buys 2wd, I pulled him out twice though, lol

Going from a Jeep Wrangler with 4X4 , to a full size Truck was a big change for me. While shipping around for a truck, I wanted a 4X4, but in South Texas, even at the ranch, I just never needed 4X4. It was fun to have, but not a necessity. I decided to save some cash and go with what I needed. I am definitely glad I did. Congrats on your new truck!
