Changing Leaf Springs

Ok guys I really need to replace the leaf springs on my 04 1500 z71 because the previous owner used it like a 2500. They just don't provide the support that they should, compared to similar trucks. The question I have though is that I have a set of leafs off of my old 89 1500 4x4 that was bought brand new by my father. WIll those work for my truck now or would I just be better off shelling out the cash for new ones?

i could be wrong but i think the spring length was different on the gmt400s.

 

if i were you, id find the newest gmt800 leafs spring i could in a junk yard and put them on. OR post a few "wanted" adds on these forums. Plenty of guys put new leaf packs on when they lift their trucks.... i practically gave my brand new leaf springs to dan (dv2000nj) when i lifted my 05...

Can you put 2500 leafs on 1500....may be a stupid question didn't know if you could tranform a Truck into a heavy half...

'99 and up will work. Anything before '99 will not. You can put 2500 springs on the 1500 as well, within the year range of course.
