Using Truck Oil Cooler Adapter on LS1

I found this page describing the use of a GM Truck Oil Cooler Adapter (p/n 15725587) on a LS1 to add an oil cooler.  Apparently, this part has been discontinued and the replacement part is p/n 15765439.  Does anybody know if this part will still work on a LS1 engine in a 2002 Corvette, and if this part has any provision for attaching the oil temperature sending unit?  The Vette has the temperature sender where this thing bolts on, which is right above the oil filter.
