Shocking!

I am looking into putting a leveling kit in addition to a 3inch body lift with some 33's on my 07 Sierra SLT and I was wondering what kind of shocks I should be putting on the truck.

Ditch the body lift,..they went out w/ 80's hair do's. most level kits claim a 33" tire clearence...

If not then Ready lift makes a 4" mild lift...a bit pricey though..

Trying to keep the factory ride qulaity intact. I've been in too many of these trucks with big suspension lift kits that ride like tanks, and I'm just not interested.

Unless you just want to put on different shocks or they are worn out, you won't need them with just a leveling kit. I assumed that you have a GMT900 and if that is the case a body lift will only make it look more like a HD not like you jacked your truck up on stilts.

Shocks are worn out and starting to chop the tires to the point where it is very visible. I bought the truck used with 50000 miles on it and I can only assume that they are the originals. I just would hate to put new tires on and have the same thing happen to the new ones....

Bilsteins are good but tend to give a more firm ride than some prefer.

 

Monroe Reflex are good shocks and keep that more stockish/smooth ride.

 

Rancho 9000s are nice and let you adjust the rebound.

 

 

 

PS: That 4' readylift is junk, especially for the price. It's a glorified spacer lift that does nothing for tie-rod and lower balljoint angles. I feel bad for any poor sap that buys that kit... the cost to replace the steering rack when the seals blow out would make up the difference in cost between that "spacer lift" and a real lift kit.
