Looking For 2007 Chev 1500hd

I'm waiting to find my next truck. 2007 Silverado 1500HD. I have a couple of questions. I've looked at a few trucks claiming they were HD but was misleaded. A couple of things I know to look for now are:

8 bolt hubs

14 bolt rear end

Crew cab w/ 6.5' box

Is there anything else to look for on these trucks? Also, did they come with a front bench seat or only captain chairs? Anything to look out for? Common problems...etc?

Thanks for any info you can give!

I don't think GM made a 1500HD in the GMT-900 trucks. The most similar would be a V-max optioned one.

As far a I know, they still made the GMT-800 until mid year and switched to the newer body style in the last half of 07. I think you can get an 07 GMT-800 and an 07 GMT-900. And I have seen a few 07 GMT-800 HD's around.

You are correct, they did make GMT-800's in 2007, but I don't think they made any 1500HDs only 2500HDs. Also I thought the original poster was talking about the GMT-900 trucks?

They made 1500hds in 2007 in GMT800 format, my friend has one.

Learn something new every day, Hmm. I'd still want either a 3/4 or a Vmax.

But you'd have to go back to '06 to find a Quadrasteer-equipped truck

Why would you want a quadrasteer truck? Those things never caught on, always had problems, and didn't keep their resale vaule.....at all. Around here, you can buy those things dirt cheap, but no one wants one.

I believe 2005 was the last year for the quadrasteer, and also the last year for the step side bed.

Ah yes...I stand corrected.

2002 = Sierra Denali only

2003-'05 = Denali, 1500HD, and Suburban/Yukon?

You're right in that the option didn't catch on. Most reviews blame this on poor marketing and the inexplicable decision not to offer it on larger trucks.

When I first considered buying my truck, I didn't know very much about Quadrasteer. So I immediately went to the web to see what I could learn about common problems. Somewhat surprisingly, I found almost no complaints and many die-hard fans of the system.

It's hard to believe that they're "dirt cheap", but the trucks are probably starting to age...

Sorry to hijack the thread, by the way. Good luck with the search for a 1500HD!

So as not to hijack too bad..As stated before the 07 classic (GMT800) was produced in a 1500HD. There is no 1500 HD listed in the 2007 GMT 900 factory brochure.

Thanks for the discussion guys, but back to my original question. Will I find a 1500HD with a front bench seat?

Sure, as long as it was optioned that way.
