There's at least a couple guys I've seen kicking around lately that have them on order. I think one has a topic posted about it in this section.

What Ford truck do you currently own?

Nice rig. My ex girlfriends dad had a 2000 F250 V10 and then bought a 2005 F250 Powerstroke.

I sat in one of the new ones but don't actually own one so the details I could offer would be a bit sparse. They had a 2500 and a 3500 Dually that I had a chance to look at and they are sweet trucks! Appearance wise there is virtually not difference from the 2010 but mechanically the new ones are miles ahead. There was a really good article on them in Truck Trend Magazine recently, but I don't know if it's available online.

i drive new GM's and fords at work and in my oppinion the chevy has a good amount of turbo lag, but the ford spools up really quickly and really moves. Trust me I'm a hardcore chevy guy but gm needs to do a couple things different with their diesels. They need to offer more gear ratios, all that you can get now is 3.73's. You may be able to spiecal order 4.10's but ford offers anywhere from 3.55-4.56. Also it would be better if GM would bring up the compression ratio, it has ben at 16.5 to 1 since 2006 and it needs to be brought up to 18.1 or 17.5 to 1. My suggestion would be to drive both of them and see what you think. The new 2011 GM's have ben built much stronger, with a FGAWR of 5200 lbs which is the same as the fords, the frame is fully boxed, and the cv axles and steering has been updated. Personally I would buy an older diesel, prolly just because I hate emmisions and the old ones I just like better. Remember that gear ratios make a big difference in power too

The sucky part is the stupid fluid injection crap that the big three are or will be forced to put in to reduce emissions down even further. No way around that right now. GM already has it in the 2011 Diesels, and I believe Ford does as well with their new 2011 Diesel and Dodge will soon be following with the RAM Cumless. I would avoid the 2011 Ford Diesel for at least a year or two since it's a brand new engine and design and is bound to have a few issues they need to work out. The Duramax is more or less the same engine with a few changes since it came out in the early 2000's and it WILL get the job done right and having the Allison tranny combo, you have one awesome Diesel Engine with the best HD Transmission PERIOD.

My GMC 2008 2500HD Diesel stickered for $50K in 11/07. When delivered the sticker was $53K. I was price protected. I just looked at the same truck in a 2011 and the sticker was $61k.

That is a tough nut for price. I got almost $10K off on my 2008.

I drove a customer ordered truck at work on delivery inspection. Ride is much better than before. The duramax has plenty of power. Truck can move at 2000-2500rpm. Very quiet too. And even empty, you can feel the exhaust brake working. Has a real nice and quick downshift and you can tell its working (via the engine noise) but its quiet as well. As far as mechanicals underneath go, everything is just gigantic! U-joints, axle tubes, torsion bars, control arms, etc. The entire chassis compared to the 2010's is just better. And as far as the urea tank goes, its not the lowest point. There is a crossmember just below it that has the transfer case skid plate on it. That member and the t-case skid are lower than the tank. The tank is almost level to the frame rail.

I think I remember reading or seeing that somewhere but I don't remember off hand where.
